Chapter 27 - Staying or Going
- You know, it's been a long time since I had someone to drink with me. There is Falco, but it is not the same with him. He's too old fashioned.

Emy and I headed towards the Tower of the Worlds and I thought for a moment that she wanted to go towards the Thieves' Quarter, but she had something else on her mind. The central tower is even more impressive at night and Emy approaches the entrance without hesitation. I follow her without saying anything, even though I don't see where she wants to take me at all. There are quite a few people passing by, but at this hour there are mostly only guards. I do not have time to realize the size of the interior of the tower or even the structure and Emy seems to be heading for an elevator which is about ten meters from the entrance.
I wave away the fact that she has already drunk half a bottle on the way and that the visit of the central tower will be done another time. I enter the elevator and Emy decides to press button number 59.
Just to say, there are about a hundred, but Emy explains to me that some elevators to go higher can only be taken on floor 100. Once on floor 59 Emy continues to show me the way and eventually brought me back to a sort of fairly large terrace without a railing, the ground covered with grass. She then sits down and plants her bottle on the ground.

She hands me a bottle she just took out of her inventory and I take a good sip that burns my throat as I look at the landscape. The void is only a few steps away from the both of us, but the feeling is not overwhelming. From where we are, we can see the tower of rangers, warriors and magicians without a problem. All three do not emit any light and do not spoil the starry landscape in any way. There are a few lights on the paved roads, but they don't emit that much light from here. With the moon, we can even see the ocean and the waves. The place is perfect to relax and I can understand that Emy enjoys the area.
Emy lies down on the grass and Micha comes out of my pocket and goes to sit on Emy's chest. She is at first a little surprised like me by his gesture, but ends up smiling vaguely and lets her settle down.
- Didn't you tell him to do that at least?

For several minutes, Emy says nothing and just drinks while looking at the sky and strokes Micha every now and then while I observe the ocean.

Strangely as I look at the sky. I think back to my girlfriend on earth. I wish she was there with me going through all these things, but I'm not sure I would be going through all of this if she had been there ...
I take a big sip of alcohol and sigh. Now is not the time to think about this stuff. I had asked myself this question not long ago, but the stars are very different inside the tower.

We stare at the landscape for a few more moments and head for the elevator.

I listen to Emy and just nod. I think I did it for the same reasons, even though it made me lose the thing that mattered most to me.
I want to create something that looks like what I had. This is also why I named Micha, "Micha". This is also why I want to remain a Tamer. To have this family that I never had. Whether it's made up of people or animals isn't much of a problem as long as I can count on them and them on me.
Micha, through the link seems to understand what I'm thinking and starts to whine as if to tell me that she will always be there. I smiled stupidly for a few moments at the idea that I was going to share my whole life with her and that it was decided in a few days.
