The two of them might be separated by a generation, but they have good relationship with each other. During several wars, they had cooperated together several times and thus, they could communicate well.

"And then took concubines on their own," Old Master Nan interrupted. 

Great General Wei shrugged, noncommittal about it.

The law of taking concubines was still there. Thus, it was common for men to pick concubines for their own.

Thankfully, not all men was allowed to do this.
