Outside in the middle of the cold and dark night, Kane is leaning against the backwall of the dormitory, smoking his second stick of cigarette.
He knew to himself that it wasn't like him to speak like that. However, hearing that the Chairman allowed firearms into the university, as well as hearing about the betrayal towards Chess, just affected him personally.
It is not because he cares about Chess. He do worry about his safety, but his anger is more because he hates the idea of betrayal.
Being betrayed by your friend, even having a gun pointed into your forehead, is a foul thing for him. And hearing that the Chairman allowed those firearms into the university almost felt like he allowed that betrayal to happen.
Kane couldn't tolerate that thought.
