His leg was tied roughly to stop the bleeding. Nicholas watched his state for a moment; he felt useless to let his sister go alone without any backing. However, the child was right. If he went with her, he would be more of a burden than help with that leg.

“I hope that girl does things right in the main hall.” When Nicholas came out to the royal knights, she disappeared just then. At first, he wanted her to stay with him, but the girl decided not to show her face.

“What is up with that?” Nicholas uttered in anger as he gripped the rein of his horse.

Four guards were escorting him. Marcus is ordered to save the people in the main hall even though he insists on staying with the Emperor. The night was still dark, but the light from the torch was of good help.

The guards were vigilant, as they were warned about the black knights. Nicholas felt frustrated as they were not riding fast enough, and being scared of the black knight’s attacks irritated him.
