Nicholas was stuck in the doorway, looking at the figure on the bed. She looked weak, but there was a smile on her face. Something he had yearned for the last few days. He quickly took giant steps, covering the distance, and hugged her. His hands were careful not to give her pain. He closed his eyes, sighing.
“You are still too cold, but thank goodness there is a heartbeat. This is not a dream.” Rosa blinked her eyes and reached over to pat his back.
“I am sorry if I gave you trouble, brother.” Nicholas released her and stared at her eyes, leaning down to match his eyes in the same line of sight as her while his left hand held the top of her head.
“You are never a burden; you can only trouble me by putting yourself in danger. Why have you never mentioned your problem?”
