Rosa smiled, ‘I did not believe that they would hit someone just because they asked for food.’

‘You know very well they are not arresting you because of food. They want to make you suffer, for insulting the commander.’ The shadow came down closer to her.

‘It was not my fault he lost. He is only brute strength.’ Rosa complained back.

‘And you are all about endurance. You could have given up you know.’ The shadow poked her forehead.

‘Well tell that to my stomach, it was growling for food.’ Rosa mumbled facing away from the shadow.

‘You had an apple.’ The shadow countered and moved to face her.

‘That is not enough, I needed more, I work the whole day.’ Rosa turned her face away.

‘Well, you can’t taste anything anyway what does it matter what you eat and how much you eat.’ The shadow screamed at her.

‘At least you would not be stuck here. Why did you not steal the food instead!’ He faced her again.
