Bab 36: Chapter 36

Bang! Crack! Bang!

Inside the living quarter of the Lab, Jason is currently working at repairing and tuning up his car. Sometime during the night a group of jealous teens saw it and decided to destroy what they could before a police car rolled by. While they weren't caught, Jason wasn't really angry about it.

So after he rearranged the few things they had in the large space at the lab, which they named the living quarters. Since they rearrange it to fit their current needs from running tests or just relaxing. He was currently working on pulling the dents out, while Lala was messing around with the engine.

"Do we have to restore it to how it was before? Can't we make it fly or something?" Lala asked.

Thinking about it, Jason wasn't against it. "But we can already fly?"

While he can fly by himself, Lala has a batpack that basically deploy batlike wings that repel gravity allowing her flight. So allowing the car to fly seems kind of redundant in his opinion. It's not like they would fly it to the store.

"I think it will be fun and also if we go on vacation again. You won't have to carry everything in your arms again." Lala pointed out.

"I see your point. Let's do it."

Turning on some tunes as they went to work on drawing up the blueprints and figuring out all the parts needed. Which most they have laying around. The two went to work stripping the car and began putting their plan into action.

--

"It only took a week and a half, but it's done." Jason knuckle bumped with Lala.

While they had most of the resources for the project, they ended up having to order some parts. Which was what took the longest as they had to wait for it to be delivered. Now, fully finished and completed once more, the Camaro ZL1 looked the same with a few modifications.

"Too bad we can't make the engine more efficient for the time being." Lala sighed.

"It is probably one of the most efficient engines on the planet at the moment. So I wouldn't worry about it for the time being." Jason shrugged.

Lala was slightly disappointed as she had a few more ideas, but unless she got her hands on stronger materials. She would have to rework everything once again. As for using the robot that Jason brought back from New Mexico or the Hammer he got from Ronan. They were currently tied up in a different project she had and unavailable.

Turning the key, as he started up the car, Jason flipped a switch. As the wheels tucked in and the sound of four smaller engines started up. The car began to hover about a foot off the ground while being relatively stable.

"Shall we go get lunch?" Jason asked as he opened the door for her.

--

"Jason. Have you thought about going to college?"

While sitting on the couch, Jason looked up confused at Liz. This was the first thing she said after returning from work. The look she had in her eyes seemed a little ferocious, almost like a mother tiger protecting her cub.

"Not really?" Jason replied as he was tinkering with a small rubik's cube.

"Well, it's a bit late and by luck you got accepted." Liz said as she flopped a folder down in front of him. Inside contained all the papers and class list he needed for his college class.

"Is there a reason I am enrolled for physical education?" He asked as he looked through.

"It's really the only open spot they had, but I figured it was something you haven't studied before." Liz smiled.

'Well, it's true I never really looked into it, but she never really was this forceful in my studies. The campus tour she had us go to was more for checking it out.' Jason thought. "What is the real reason?"

Shifting her eyes like a kid who got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Liz gave up trying to think of a convincing excuse.

"This woman at work kept yammering about how those who don't go to college are worthless. Kept bragging that her son was nearly done studying to be a doctor." Liz clenched her fist in anger. "Then she learned about you and kept pestering me. I can't report her as she has the store manager wrapped around her finger. So I caved and signed you up. Just do it for a semester and if you don't like it, drop out."

"I guess I could," Jason shrugged. It was more busy work, but it's not like he had much to do for the time being.

"Thank you Jason, you're the best.' Liz gave him a one handed hug before leaving.

Looking through the file a bit more and finding the book list needed. Jason just scratched his head as he began researching what he had signed up for. After about ten minutes of research, Jason realized something.

'This might be interesting.' Jason thought.

--

Slipping out of bed, Jason found his father staring up at the sky. Unlike when they lived out in Whitefalls, the night sky didn't look as clear. Not that it mattered much with their sight as the sky would look the same if it was clear or a heavy thunderstorm.

"So college huh?" James asked.

"Might as well. It makes Liz happy so why not.' Jason replied with a small shrug. "Also, I've been thinking. I want to try to become a hero."

A smile blossomed on James face so fast as the man wrapped his large arms around Jason lifting him up. The pride and joy of hearing this radiated off the man, it was like he became the sun.

"I don't think I am ready to be seen yet, so I think I will do a similar approach like in the Smallville show." Jason said hoping his father wouldn't mind.

His father wasn't really much of a fan of how the Smallville show did it at some parts. While at parts they could do wonders with technology, at others it was lacking. How could Clark go undetected when he was battling Doomsday or half the incidents he got caught up in. He didn't even have his disguise in place yet to boot.

"I suppose that is a possibility, but son. What you want to accomplish isn't possible until you step out." James warned.

"I don't plan on staying in the shadows for long." Jason replied.

"I am so proud of you son. Since the girls are sleeping, why don't you get started." James advises.

"Tonight?"

"Jason, the first steps are where many hesitate. So don't make excuses and just do it." James answered.

"I suppose your right dad." Jason nodded as he quickly got changed and left.

It appeared on the news later that day, the symbol of an encased S was found across the state. Many have theorized it was a new gang or group of vigilantes. However, besides a gust of wind, no one had much to go on discovering any leads.
