Bab 33: Episode 3 - Safe and Sound (10)
They spend time together in the room. A long night and mysterious, that night became the happiest night for Vanessa. Because she had felt something she had never felt during her life. Sweet blood as sugar.
Bright room due to the open window. The rays of the sun that illuminates the whole room make Varest wake up from his sleep. He gets up and suddenly sees his hands. His hands there were two of a vampire bite, still there and still feel pain.
"Where is she?"
Varest got up from the bed and has a plan to prepare himself. Don't know how long he was asleep. The sun is right up there, signaling the time is the middle of the day. With wearing a formal without the help of the servants. He was ready to start a new day.
In front of the door, so quiet no single servant or knight passing by. In that big hallway, there's only Varest walking alone. He wanted to meet Vanessa and Basil to say his morning greetings. But he doesn't know where there are.
He comes to the dining room. His little hand knocked on the door, "come in" someone told him to come in and he opened the door.
Vanessa was there enjoying her food. While Basil was busy massaging his head with his hands.
"Sit down, you must be hungry." She welcomed him warmly.
I just sit directly by Miss Vanessa's instructions. She gives me a wide variety of meat, so my body can become more strong. That is what she said to me.
However, something was missing.
What is that?
"Thank you, Miss Vanessa."
"No problem, Sweetheart."
Calling him sweetheart makes Basil dumbfounded, "Do you have a fever? You're not drunk, right?" He checked out her condition.
"Of course not. I'm just happy because of yesterday. I am right, Varest?" She seduces him.
He with a blushed face. "Yes...That's right."
His answer makes Vanessa smile endlessly and then provide various types of food again to him. Even there is no food left for Basil.
"Hey! Don't take all of that meat. Give me too!" He said.
"Who cares?" She answered fast and focus to make this human boy happy.
Seriously? Vanessa acted differently today. The servant said they sleeping in the same room. Did they spend a night together? Wait! Spending the night together with what purpose? Vanessa are you really interested in Varest until you forgot your funny reason?
The funny and ridiculous reason I've ever heard. But I know her feelings. So it's okay, there's nothing between them. The Grand Duke will never allow them to have a forbidden relationship.
"I'm sure about it...I'm sure about it..." Basil repeat the words many times while nodding his head.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Ah, No! Nothing happens."
"...Okay."
Basil wants to believe in his words and wishes that his imagination is not true. Unfortunately... Vanessa's gaze at him was so different from before. What happens with the two in the room? His curiosity makes him have no appetite to eat.
"I'm sorry to have to disturb you while eating. Can you tell me what happened during the battle?"
He sighed, "You still on your vacation. You don't need to..."
Vanessa cut the conversation. "But I'm entitled to know. Because someday I will go back to war. At least I want to know what happened."
As usual, her words made him goosebumps. He sighed. "Okay, I will tell you."
"Thank you, Basil."
His heart palpitations. "With pleasure, My little butterfly."
He told her everything at the war. Vanessa listening and Varest too. Vanessa is feel sympathy. While Varest looks curious about what goes on. Their eating time is punctuated by the chatter making the atmosphere of the dinner table look crowded.
Without realizing it was already two hours they talked. "Waah! I can't believe Uncle Theodore and Theodora will do something risky."
Their uncle, The 3rd Prince and 4th Prince against a big army alone. Don't know the word tired, they both almost lost their lives. Fortunately, there was Hussain, the 5th Prince. He has the power of healing and can heal all kinds of diseases.
At the banquet when Vanessa and Victor returned from war. There are two of her uncle who could not come because having an affair outside the country. Their name is Hussain and Abel.
Hussain is the 5th Prince. While Abel is the 6th Prince. The two of them is the strongest prince. Their name also has been written in history and has a lot contributed to the battlefield.
"My father and uncle are missing their little niece. Next time you must see them all."

"What does he mean? What is he want to do? Stay in your side?" Basil also wants to figure it out.
Vanessa and Varest laughed a little. Basil was confused why they were laughing. "Want to help me again like you always do?" Vanessa reached out her hand, inviting him.
Basil replied by holding her hand and kissing it with respect. "If that is your request. I can't help or refused. It's my job to keep you safe and sound."
His promise to the Crown Prince, Sam. His own father. To keep Vanessa with all of his heart.
"My honor to you, Your Highness." She give him a bow and hugged him full of joy. Basil's heart is going to explode. But he feels happy because her happiness is his priority.
"Okay, you two come with me. Let's get the training started."
With the same path of life. The three of them is ready for more details of their life.
She smiled, Varest and Basil looked at each other. They answered, "Yes...Madame!"
