Bab 7: Episode 1 - Goodbye (7)
Vanessa saw him carefully. His clothes are full of blood. She immediately stepped back slowly.
"This isn't you...Why are you doing this? You know that the Emperor didn't like a human inside his palace. You know the rules, right?"
Everyone knows about this. We forgive all children born in mixed blood and let the kids live here. But a different human who live in this country. We don't want to let them live or step on this country.
Valeska is the exception because her existence is still a secret. I told him not to take care of him. Unfortunately, he did not listen to my words. This time he dared to say all of this to the Emperor and want Valeska to live here.
"I know your feelings to her. At least not like this. Don't leave us...don't leave me."
You always tell me for not feeling empathy with humans. I also really hate humans, really...very hate them because they had killed the people I love.
"...I'm not doing this to Valeska. Like you said earlier. I have a reason. It's just..."
"Just what?"
He held his own hands. "I can't tell you."
"Then...you can tell me your reason to me."
My mouth was moving by itself.
"Or else...are you feeling Valeska is the same to you?"
"What do you mean?"
He looks confused and Vanessa tries to explain more clearly.
"Inside you, there is human blood. You want to give her affection. You feel sorry for her because she's too small. But it's strange..."
Vanessa trying to hold her emotions.
"I have a bad feeling about that girl...I feel something strange after she comes with us."
When she said, the guards shouted from a distance or find them both. The two of them just shut up because the conversation is not over. Vanessa finally give up.
"I hope you know what you are doing right now and...the little girl is waiting for you in that mansion."
"Vanessa, what are you..."
He tried to come closer but Vanessa continued to step back.
"I love you."
In the end, I'm saying this word to you. Maybe you will reject me.
"There he is!" The knight is getting on their way.
Victor turned around "I'm Sorry, Vanessa. I can't fall in love with you. But promise me you will survive."
Victor said with the blood-covered his clothes. He left her alone without care. Vanessa was silent for a moment then said.
"Do as you want. Thank you for all this years. Goodbye, Victor."
All those knights is chasing after him and me who are just like a doll standing without moving. I can fool the world. But I cannot fool my heart. That word is so true. My heart now is to keep running and running, Victor.
"Are you okay? Answer me!"
I didn't answer my Uncle Theodore's questions. My eyes were red because hold the emotions. Time keeps running and heavy tears are back. After all this time I can feel it. I'm not strong. My promise to him has...
"Vanessa?"
A cry without a voice invites attention. Her uncle who was there is only silent, can't do anything. Until...
"Vanessa?! VANESSA WAKE UP!"
I suddenly faint in front of them. Unconscious with tears that are still flowing. They must be worried about me again. I had brought trouble to all of them. I'm sorry.
She won't know what happens after that night. She only remembers one dream. The person that left her twenty years ago. A man who has sacrificed his life for her. He was...was...the man.
"Vanessa, please wake up. I'm right here now."
Who is this voice belong to? He keeps calling my name. I can see his face right now. He's feeling happy, hugged me who was about to wake up.
"Fa..ther..."
"I'm glad you're okay."
"How long I..."
"One day."
Only one day? Then Victor is still trying to escape. Even so, he must be run away with his dragon. He is the strongest knight. He can't get caught that easily.
"Vanessa...I need some explanation about anything happened."
Her grandfather, the Emperor come to her room.
"Father..she just woke up. Let him rest."
"Shut up, Raphael! I have no business with you, but with your daughter, my own granddaughter."
Even her father can't against the orders of her grandfather and asked for a complete explanation now. About what are they doing, talking about, and anything related to Victor.
"Whether he will be a fugitive?" She asked.
"Of course, he's already breaking the rules of our country. I must punish him!"
She smiled with the evil eye. "Then...you have to find him quickly. Because he was too fast and it's not easy to find him."
The Emperor was surprised because of her evil eyes. Vanessa continued her words.
"Is not an important thing that I'm talking about him. Only he will bring the girl with him. He was heading to the mansion where we lived before."
Grandpa immediately gestured to the knight, like giving an order. All has begun, with a plan of my game.
"And Grandpa...if he gets caught and the girl was there with him. Please do what I want."
"What is it? Tell me what do you want."
She with a sinister face. Little devil showing her teeth. "I just need that girl. When she was found. Bring the girl to me."
If you think I'm a weak woman. You are wrong. I am a respectable woman in all nations. I'm not going to let my prey escape.
"Very well...if that's all you want. I'll grant your wish."
"Thank you for your kindness, Your Majesty.
This time he listen to my wish. Before he goes. He muttered, though his voice was small but enough to sound in our ears.
"You look exactly like your mother, Vanessa. She would be proud."
Yes, thank you for your compliments, and Victor, you know my character so well. Good luck protecting the girl. Do what you want. Now I want to forget about myself and have fun with this holiday. A holiday I look forward all these ten years. I will have some fun!
