Bab 29: Koko
"So what do we do now yoriichi."
"I will go out and find look for labor jobs, meanwhile please stay inside the house. Your health is worsening these days uta, make sure to not step outside at night."
"Wait."
The two lovebirds broke free from their weird fantasy of easy employment when I interrupted.
Seriously, do you think it's so easy to get a job? Just ask for it and you're done? I wish life were that easy and so does every korean graduate!
"I know someone from the demon slayer corps who could get you in. You're more suited for the sword than lumberjacking, yoriichi."
"But I do not wish to fig-"
"I know~I know but they should also be able to keep uta safe. You and I can't stop muzan if he charges in with a horde of demons. We all know I am his target so he will try to get uta as hostage."
"....."
"Just endure it until we manage to kill that bastard."
Yoriichi's eyes slightly glistened when I mentioned muzan, the concealed trace of killing intent oozed out of his soul as he spoke out."
"Will I be able to meet him if I join the corps?"
"I can't say for sure but your chances should increase."
Hearing that, he slightly hunched his back down and looked down.
"I will depend on you for this then, yuuji-san."

The forest was covered in wisteria, it made me feel nauseated at first but the feeling washed away once adaption kicked in.
Crows with an eerily similar vibe to the seagulls in the pirate world kept a close watch on me as I walked in deeper inside.
My eyes told me that I've been circling the area the entire time but Observation haki proved that I am on the correct route, based on the fact that the life sign I can sense is getting closer.
'An illusion huh...oh well.'
Walking further I found a woman standing near the wisteria tree looking at the leaves swaying with eyes wistful eyes. Her red robes were decorated with silk and underneath them was a brown uniform. The hairpin tying her hair into a bun had a piece of silk hanging with beautiful embroidery.
The long white katana hanging on her waist added an ethereal feeling to her. I stood there for a good minute just watching her.
A hauntingly beautiful face, but it had a sense of detachment.
"Koko."
"Who!?"
She turned back in an instant to face me holding her sword ready to be drawn at any moment but relaxed when she saw me.
"You shouldn't creep up!"
Her cheeks puffed up as she said so. It was cute to see her acting all mad and failing so adorably.
"Sorry for making you wait."
".....You do not have to worry about it. I myself arrived a few moments ago."
"Do you live here."
"Yes...would you like to come inside?"
"Is that okay?"
"I dismissed the maids working here so the house is empty right now."
"Alright then."

"So how've you been koko?"
"Just barely managing yuuji-san. My responsibilities seem to increase with my strength."
"Hmm?"
"The demon slaying corps have the necessary tools to kill demons but they don't have the skills to use them."
"So you're teaching them?"
"I developed a sword art after a lot of hard work but when I tried sharing it the first problem I had to face was that none of them wanted to learn the sword from a woman."
"UUhhh.."
"Of course they wouldn't disobey the leader so they agreed albeit reluctantly. But they don't pay any attention."
"Oh."
"To make them learn it I had to force them by beating them up and even the it didn't work."
"Oh?"
"They couldn't grasp the idea behind my sword style and even after months of practice they managed to barely attain the shell of it."
"Sound rough."
"Then there is the frequent demon attacks. I have to for patrol every night! I can feel my pimples forming on my skin due to the lack of sleep! This is unfair."
"I see."
Just like that I listened to koko talk about her daily life slaying demons and training others while frequently tuning out to regain some mental energy.
