She was a head shorter than him. Even more than a head if she did not keep her chin tilted defiantly as she did.
''Why is it always dark here?" Luciana asked, for once not indulging in a battle of words that would leave her feeling drained.
The rain was not showing any signs of stopping and she felt like since they were here, alone in each other's presence, she could try to be civil with him just as she used to do before.
''Because it's the dark castle.''
''Is the whole heaven like this?" Luciana glanced at him.
"No. The light castle never faces the darkness of the night.''
Luciana nodded, "I was surprised when I opened my eyes for the first time after coming out of the portal."
Cardan's eyes flicked over to the woman who was looking at the sky, ''How did you expect it to be?"
