Summer blankly stared at her phone while flipping it upside down. It's been a while since the last time she spoke to Heidi. How many days was it? 3? 5? maybe 6? Still, Heidi didn't show up.
She was sighing for the nth time, thinking and worrying about Heidi. What happened after she was escorted by those officers? She didn't know... Even the news was silent.
"What's wrong?" Summer glanced at Melissa as she spoke. She brought a tray with two cups of hot coffee on top.
They were currently sitting under the standing tent. Everyone was also at the other tents; some were eating, some were checking the materials they'll use and some were watching the photos they shot earlier. They were having their break time after 2 hours of shooting.
"Nothing... Just wondering about something." Summer responded, then she picked up the coffee and sip on it. Melissa also did the same.
"Is it about Heidi?"
Summer nodded. "I couldn't reach her. Her manager, assistant, her roommate... Everyone. It's just so weird."
"Maybe they were lying low, for now. You know, murder is a serious allegation. It's really difficult to deal with the reporters right now."
"You have a point." Summer worriedly gazed down. "But... She should've at least message me or let me know if she was okay."
Summer and Melissa paused for a moment as they saw Heidi briskly walk toward them. Summer was about to stand up to greet her but before she could open her mouth, a walloped slap from Heidi redden her right cheek.
"What th—"
"You damn ruined me!" Heidi hollered.
Summer looked around and saw everyone's dumbfounded faces, staring in their direction. She glanced at Heidi, confused by what was happening.
"What are you talking about?" Summer asked in a low tone.
"Don't play dumb. I know you sent those videos!"
Summer's eyes widened. She immediately grasped Heidi's hand. "Not here."
She pulled Heidi away from everyone and stopped somewhere where they could talk privately.
Summer faced her with those befuddled eyes. "I don't know what are you talking about but I didn't send anything!"
"Liar! You're the only one I was talking to that day!"
"What? What day? Wait... I don't understand!"
"Stop acting innocent, Summer! You filmed our conversation in the changing room and you sent it to the police!"
"Huh?! I didn't film that. And how can I do that? You just said I'm the one you were talking to."
"Well, I don't know what kind of magic you did!"
Summer's blood boiled instantly and glared at Heidi. "Hey. Why are you only accusing me? Reign was there, too. Why don't you ask her as well?"
Heidi clenched her fist and glared back at Summer. "She will never betray me."
"What about me? I will not betray you either. I admit I don't like what you did but I never thought to report you!"
"Stop lying, Summer!" Heidi's voice started to crack and the tears blurred her eyes. "I... Trusted you, Summer... I trusted you."
Summer's tears streamed down and her chest tightened. For heaven's sake, she really didn't do it!
Summer held Heidi's hand and weakly looked at her. "Believe me, Heidi... I can't do that to you."
"But you already did!" Heidi harshly threw Summer's hand. Her tears fell down non-stop. Heidi stared at Summer with those hurting gazes. "Now that I think about it... Reign was right... You were just waiting for the right opportunity to attack and this time... You ruined me big time."
"Don't think that way! Heidi... You know I'm not like that!"
"Yes... That's what I thought, too... But, no... You're a fvckin' TRAITOR!" Heidi flared.
Summer could feel her anger. Summer reached for her hand once again and didn't let her pull it off when she tried to.
"Heidi... Why don't you believe me? I'm telling the truth! It's not me!" Summer softly told, but Heidi just pushed her that she nearly lost her balance. Summer lifted her eyes and locked on Heidi's.
The way she glared, Summer knew her mind was already closed. No matter how hard she will try to make her believe, Heidi will never listen.
"Too bad... I don't believe you anymore... Or should I say... I DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE IT!" Heidi fiercely remarked.
"Oh, anyway... In case you're curious... Your video didn't work. It's not enough to prove the allegation. But, still... I was ruined... My image was ruined... Are you happy? Of course... You should be."
"Heidi, I—"
"Stop it! Enough of your lies." Heidi walked towards Summer while staring daggers straight into her eyes.
"You started this fight... Then, let's see how this ends... Summer." Heidi told then she turned her back, but she halted and looked over her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Summer. I am really not like you... I am definitely a fvckin' doltish who LOVES to throw my life for REVENGE! Now, that I have nothing to lose anymore... Just a piece of advice... Be careful and watch your back." Heidi added.
Summer was taken aback by what she said. Summer closed her fist and gritted her teeth.
"Fine!" Heidi was about to leave but she stopped as Summer spoke. "Fine... Don't believe me... Revenge if you want. Accuse me if you want! But..."
Summer glared. "I'll prove you wrong."
Heidi didn't turn around nor said anything, instead, she walked ahead and left Summer in distress.
Summer wiped her tears roughly as she cursed in her thoughts. She was incredulous that Heidi literally accused her and refused to take her explanation.
Why on Earth she will video that? And How the hell will she do that when she was actually talking to her face to face that day? She didn't even have that much time to prepare it beforehand, isn't she?
"Ghad!" Summer shouted then she posthaste back to the tents..
Melissa worriedly approached her and was about to say something but she was cut off as Summer told, "Let's go."
Though Melissa was befuddled, she still followed Summer with a bunch of unpacked things in her arms. "Miss, Summer! Wait for me!"
.
.
.
Summer stopped her car in front of a mall. She quickly got off and then went in, looking for her step-sister. Melissa behind her was also worriedly following her while whispering her name but, obviously, Summer was so enraged that she didn't even bother to notice the people staring at her.
Summer halted as she saw Reign sitting inside a salon—it was a private space given to her temporarily during her shoot—she didn't waste any second and went straight to her.
"Reign!" Summer called, Reign just emotionlessly glanced at her.
"Why are you here?"
"What did you say to her?!" Reign raised her right brow at Summer's question.
"Say to whom?"
"Heidi! She was accusing me of something I haven't done!"
"So? What does it have to do with me?"
"Oh, come on! Don't act like you didn't know! I'm sure you said something that's why she won't believe me!"
Reign just chuckled. "I didn't say anything to her. It's not my fault. If she doesn't believe you, it was her own choice."
Summer paced towards her and glared. "You're the one who sent those videos she was talking about, right?"
Reign fell silent for a moment and was just coldly staring at Summer's blazing gaze.
"It's not me."
"I don't believe you."
Reign averted her eyes and started to fix her hair. "Whether you believe me or not, I don't care."
"Miss, Summer... Let's go... Their eyes are on us. Please, don't cause any trouble here." Melissa whispered just enough for her to hear it.
Summer came back to her senses and looked around. There were definitely a lot of people, recording and taking pictures, around them.
'This is not good', she thought then she looked at Reign.
"If I find out it was really you, I'll make sure all your teeth are removed! Mark my word." Summer stated. "Let's go, Melissa"
Reign didn't move until Summer was out of her sight. She faintly sighed and glared at her reflection in the mirror. Her fist was closed, almost crushing the comb in her palm.
'If it wasn't Summer. Then, who sent it?', Reign thought then she screamed, causing everyone to jump in surprise.
'Don't let me find you, bitch.'
