Bab 111: The Last Laboratory Is Rather Underwhelming

[I have awoken from my slumber at last. Chapter. Words. Plot. Enjoy.]

Breaking down a metal door, Mitsuna stepped inside the last surviving Lab on this continent.

'This should be the last one on this continent. I'll leave the others to some other experimental escapee if I don't just happen to pass by one.'

Cracking her neck, she bolted down the corridors. Slicing the necks of each of the scientists she passed with a thin ice knife, Mitsuna broke some glass on her way so that the inmates had a better chance to escape.

Reaching the final room that looked similar to all the others she destroyed before it, Mitsuna saw 4 scientists inside.

'3 women, 1 man. K.'

Using her skill [Silksong], Mitsuna created extremely thin and sharp mana silk on the tips of her fingers.

Waving her hand, all the women were sliced to ribbons along with a good portion of the room.

'Men are so much easier to threaten than women.'

"Oi."

Mitsuna spoke, making eye contact with the man.

"What blood do you have here?"

"W-Why are you doing this?"

'Another one of these types?'

"Answer, you're already a dead man walking, no reason for you to ask anything."

"..."

"What blood. Do you have?"

"We have the same types as laboratory 22."

"Just more snake and rabbit huh. Well, that's disappointing."

Waving her finger, the man's head fell off his shoulders.

Stepping on and breaking a pair of bloody glasses on her way out, Mitsuna picked them up and continued on her way.

Reaching outside, she waited.

Observing the glasses, a single lens was left untouched. Wiping off the blood and looking through it, Mitsuna was surprised.

'This... This is some high-tech sh*t.'

'A hologramatic light that helps with aim, an automatic appraisal skill, a little invisible mana barrier around the head. Wow.'

Removing the lens, she noticed how it no longer held any effects.

'Huh. I'll keep it for now.'

Throwing it inside her [Item Box], Mitsuna looked back towards the lab.

'Only ones left inside are... eh. Whatever.'

Collapsing the place while only leaving a single tunnel outside, Mitsuna turned back to Esa.

'They should be able to leave via tunnel when they get over their fear or rather if they get over it.'

Floating up next to her new subordinate, she crossed her legs and sat in the air.

"So. Let's talk."

Seeing Esa nod, Mitsuna started the conversation.

"I don't completely care about what type of loyalty you swore, but I do want to ask, is the possibility of betrayal on the table?"

"No. It is impossible."

"Got it. Also, why swear loyalty?"

"Well... My race is a sort of a grand helper type. Normally, we find a God that we think has potential and when the time of Primordial Ascension, the Epicenter Festival rolls around, we are sent along with our chosen God to take part in it, giving them a helping hand. Though since I held no concrete Element, I was not very helpful to Gods that could only control an Element and any God that has a bit of control over a Law already has a Primordial Fairy born from that same law.

It was then that a certain weak Demigod tried to take me for himself. I, however, refused to acknowledge him and incurred his wrath. He called on the upper echelon of the Gods, told them that I had attacked him which is counted as treason towards Divinity and had me banished and sealed. I was locked inside that lantern for millennia, only used as a tool for Mortal men. A punishment of becoming a tool for Mortals because I refused to become one for that damn Demigod.

It was at my lowest point that the lantern was shattered. I then found you. I did not know how much time had passed or what was going on in the realm of Gods but after finding the crystallized heart of my sister in that box, I knew that the Gods were not satisfied with only punishing me and used their power over the Great Laws to remove the Primordial Titles of my family members, banishing them to the Mortal world.

I knew that I couldn't even scratch any Elden God with my power after just being resealed and with you having a similar Title to me, the [One of a Kind] Title, I had to take a chance. It seemed like your growth was monstrous so I swore loyalty. I took a gamble and checked on your location and power level as often as I could while on my journey to regain most of my former strength and if possible find some of my surviving family members. I failed in the second task but I did regain most of my power and my Element. If possible, I would ask for your cooperation in my revenge. Your growth is even more tremendous than the last time we met, I know that we can do it, you definitely have the potential to become a God. Please."

Mitsuna's brain shortcircuited.

'What? Gods? Primordial Ascension? Law? More Gods? Elden? I mean... I sort of know what Divinity means but hell. Damn, I found myself a troublesome subordinate...'

"*Sigh* I mean. You're talking about killing gods and sh*t. I have to think about it before promising anything. If and I mean if I accept and we somehow fail, it won't be just my body dying this time. If we are talking about gods, they have the power to destroy a soul."

"I... understand."

'... Ughh.'

"Don't look all dejected. I have some revenge of my own to get. After that's done I can give you an answer with all the God sh*t."

"Really?"

"Well, I ain't going to leave a subordinate in their time of need. Besides, you said millennia so you probably aren't the youngest person around. A few months or years won't be long. I'm sure when we reach the end of my revenge it will seem like only a little while had passed."

"Th-That's a promise!"

"Well duh."

Shaking hands, Mitsuna was slightly worried about what she has gotten herself into.

...

(An undetermined amount of time in the future.)

"Oi. Troops. Get ready. This is officially a Holy War."

An indistinguishable figure with a voice similar to Mitsuna spoke.

Behind her, a group of 12 stood. Each had Unique features but their figures were obscured.

A sheepkin man with golden horns and eyes, holding a golden revolver.

A small girl with golden blond long hair and four wings.

A man with semi-long hair who had three weapons, an axe a sword and a metal crowbar.

A familiar-looking fairy holding a sniper.

A little girl with long cyan hair and red eyes, her hands were graced by knuckle dusters.

A tall man with red eyes, glasses and a single lock of glowing white hair.

A pale-looking girl with bunny ears, she wore a hoodie and had a sword on her waist.

A girl with shamrock coloured hair and golden eyes with a bamboo sword in her hand.

A man with a pink coloured moustache.

A girl with long white clothes and a white scarf.

A girl wearing full black with orange hair.

And a man with long dark purple hair and a white fedora.

Standing atop a rocky mountain, a lush forest could be seen behind the group.

And opposing them, a divine light falling from the sky.

As pillars of light shot down, figures of Gods could be seen descending to the earth.

Some looked human while others looked monstrous.

The figure leading the group, Mitsuna, spoke.

"You guys will take care of the Egypt, Roman and Norse Pantheons. I'll take the Greeks and the remaining Old Ones, no killing yet."

Teleporting to the sky, Mitsuna left the group to fight 3 entire pantheons of Gods on their own.

Each member readied a weapon. If they even had one.

A True Holy War Ensued.
