A candle stand made of gold hit him on his head and he winced and after receiving a few more injuries he managed to reach Clarissa.

He pulled her down but her body still trashed against him. " Clarissa! Wake up, Clarissa. "

It was like she was deaf to the sound of his voice.

He tried to do what he did the last time this had happened. He absorbed as much of her energy as he could but this was stronger than he expected. 

He started bleeding from his nose after some time and felt the strength in his hands weaken. 

Mari placed her paws on Clarissa's legs  and her blue eyes glowed brightly. 

Kieran realized she was helping to absorb the energy as well. 

He tried using the incantation but it didn't work. Nothing was working. He was beyond frustrated. 

There had to be a way to stop this. 

He had never felt this weak from absorbing energy. He couldn't remember ever being weak.
