Bab 37: Chapter 37: A Mother's Legacy

There was a frustrated sigh, accompanied by hasty footsteps.

“Oh, old woman! Are you in here again?”

A human soldier dressed in blue pants and shirt came around a stack of books and caught sight of Nora.

Tilting his head, the man said, “You know you aren’t supposed to be in here.”

“They kept taking the bow, Rowan,” Nora said quickly. “I tried to tell them it was yours, but they wouldn’t listen.”

The soldier peeked around the books to see Rowan, and with a look of surprise, he bowed.

“I’m sorry, Queen Rowan. I didn’t know you were here. We aren’t supposed to let anyone in here, but this old lady...”

“Nora.”

“Uh, Nora, keeps trying to take this bow.”

“Perhaps she keeps trying to take the bow because it belongs to me. It was my mother’s and trying to return it to me. I had no time to pack before.”

The soldier looked uncomfortable but nodded.

“Were you here when my uncle took me away?”

The soldier shook his head.
