"You love him, don't you?" Clancy asked, already knowing the answer.

Beatrice closed her eyes and was met with the visual of him, and their first encounter. That chaotic moment and all she could think about was him only wearing a loincloth made of chain links and the thin crooked crown, that rested on his blue-gray hair. His unnatural beauty still took her breath away. 

"I don't know, Clancy." She answered honestly. "Can a mortal truly love a demon? Or is my feelings for him a byproduct? Do I love him because that is his lure? Demons are very beautiful creatures when they want to be."

Clancy hadn't thought it thought about it that way. She was never given the freedom to. Religion had been bred into her.
