Slowly reaching for the blade he dropped he chuckles, "You should know, Vern, you're I still think you're the same damn frightful kid. In fact you are, there's no thinking needed, I see it plain as day."

Rolling my eyes at the tactic I nod, "Can you get on with what Steve sent you to tell me?"

His cackling continues, he drags a stool and sits with the blade between his legs and his chin resting on his balled hand, "You don't want to hear the truth do you? I can't say I blame you, I didn't want to see mine either, but Steve showed it to me anyway, because I needed it to become the person I am today."

This gets snort out of me, "The person you are today? A shit bag you mean? A fucking murderer?"

He stops laughing, mirth vanished in the air and he stares at me behind his shades as he says, "Yes, a murderer, a man filled with greed and desire, a man suffering from his sins."
