Bab 108: Chapter 9

Warbled noises disturb my rest, heavy footfalls, cries for help and mourning. So much mourning.

Blinking, my hands grip the fine sheets underneath me, a comfortable bed, a hospital bed by the way it's propped up. My hands wander about, checking my body for completeness as my eyes have yet to adjust to the blinding white light over head.

They've rid me of my clothes. I curse, knowing they've also snipped up the clothes I wore and I have nothing else to wear aside from the drafting green gown I have on now.

Through the light someone approaches, a familiar shape holding two steaming cups as she approaches.

"Hey! You're up." Her smile lightens my mood, and the wafting scent of home. She leans in, pressing her head to mine and mutters, "Good enough temp, you hungry?"
