~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
I place the plates that no longer have food on them into the sink to allow the machines to clean them. Jess has decided to use the flight simulator to practice, so I'm all on my own now. I finished ahead of schedule, but Durado will be coming today.
He'll want to head out immediately, and that means it'll be time to say goodbye to Empyrian. I don't know where we'll be heading, but I know that whatever we'll be doing will be a hard task. Durado hasn't really explained a lot to me, only that it involves his daughter.
I'll likely get a quest from the system regarding this upcoming mission with Durado, and I'm incredibly interested in where we're going in The Aeternus Universe.
I walk over to the couch and take a load off. I pick up the datapad on the table in front of me, and I start to browse the news that's going on around The Aeternus Universe.
The articles I'm reading are saying that players are leaving Empyrian in the hundreds of millions. Since so many guides on how to earn credits are out, it wasn't going to be long until the casuals left.
Here I am, sitting on my couch in my in-game apartment, still not leaving. I don't know if you'd call me casual or not, but I'm really looking forward to leaving Empyrian and being added to that large number.
I still have the quest to find my homeworld, but I know I need a lot of help before taking that quest on. I have plans on how I'm going to do that, but until I have the funds. I can only do what I can right now.
As I continue to read the articles, the sliding door to my apartment opens, and Durado walks in. He's out of breath and looks exhausted.
I stand up and walk towards him, and before I can even ask a question, he starts. "Get your ship ready. We're leaving right now. I'll explain once we're out of the Empyrian system." I waste no time and rush to the workshop.
Durado's ship is on and parked on one of the platforms. He's ready to go. I look over to Jess, and I know she'll be mad if I don't say goodbye, but there is no time for that. I run to Autumn's Fall, and I get in the pilot's seat as the ship hums to life, sensing my presence.
The hatch closes, and I place my hands in the jelly.
The helmet comes down from above, and it latches on, and I interface with the ship. I lift off, and Durado flies toward space.
I fly right behind him, and we breach the upper atmosphere. "I'm sending you some coordinates. Follow me to these. It's a safe place we can talk before we go any further. We have a lot to discuss." I accept the coordinates, and I input them into the navigation computer.
I watch Durado's ship enter hyperspace before me, and I soon follow once I confirm the destination. I enter hyperspace for the first time.
[New Discovery for Player Scott Autumn!]
[Hyperspace travel]
[Explanation: Hyperspace is a state of high-speed transportation through space. While not as fast as warping, it's much safer. The difference is negligible by a few minutes.]
The system sends me a message, and I read it as I take my helmet off. I don't need it on since I'm moving through hyperspace. The navigation computer says it's going to take around 3 minutes to arrive at the destination.
I'm not sure what happened to Durado to make him rush like this, but I'm betting it's not something good. "I wonder what happened..." There are millions of things going through my mind, but I don't want to guess without enough information on the subject. All I can do is follow Durado to wherever we're going.
The coordinates he sent me aren't anything that I recognize. I've only seen ones posted on the forums in the real world, so, normally, I wouldn't. I relax in my seat as my starship flies through hyperspace. It's a wonderful sight to see.
It's a mixture between blue, green, and purple. I've read reports of people getting lost in hyperspace because their navigation computers fail.
Or their starship never exits hyperspace. It's a phenomenon known as Hyperspace Dispersal. Once lost in hyperspace, you're either stuck until you die, or you spit out in a random part of the universe.
