I'm at the highest buy-in table, and after the last 5 hours, I've built up a credit fortune starting at the smallest table and making my way up here. I could just leave right now and take my winnings. However, it's just too easy to take these idiots' money. The cards are dealt, and I lift mine as I get them so I can see—a 5 and 7, not the best hand. I don't let it show on my face, and everyone is dealt, and the first bets are laid out. Before I can put my bet down, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn and see it's a big hairless muscled creature.
I look to his side and see who I assume is the owner of this establishment. "We need to have a talk." I'm smart, and that isn't a good sign. Before I'm lifted from the table, I shove all my winning credits into my inventory. I'm quick too. This makes the alien-looking creature mad. It's not like I'll permanently die if he decides to kill me. I'm lifted out of my seat with force, and I'm taken to a room where staff only hand out. I'm forced into a chair, and the next thing I know, I'm getting hit in the face. After the owner gets his anger out, he holds his hand.
I lift my head and smile. There is a pain threshold we can't go past. I bet his hand hurts more than my face right now. "You think you can rob my Casino and get away with it! You taking me for some sort of clown!" The smug look on my face pisses him off. He indicated for his men to start beating on me, and boy, do they. After a few minutes of getting my face smashed, I feel a slightly hollow feeling. As if I'm floating, if I had to guess, I'm close to death. They stop, and the alien grabs my hair and pulls on it.
I spit out some blood and look at the alien. "I can get away with it, and you are a clown." He goes completely red in the face, and before he can keep throwing punches, the door to the room slides open with a hiss. He stops and looks behind him. He immediately straightens out and fixes his alien-like suit. The person walks over, and it's a human male. He must be the man behind the curtain—the one supplying the credits and using this place as a laundering company. Best guess anyway, it's like the old mobs in Vegas.
He walks in front of me and looks me up and down. "This is the guy that took us for a ride? You don't look like you have the gall for taking a Casino for millions. Mind telling me why you hit our Casino for no less than 4.4 million credits? Did Paulie put you up to this?" I feel like I'm in an old movie about the mob after that name. I shake my head slowly and spit more blood out. No pain, but the effects on the body are there. My character's face is all swollen up. He crosses his arms waiting for me to give the reason why I won so much.
I'm not going to tell them the real reason it was so easy, but I can tell them why. In truth, I did it because I was bored, and having fun winning money from the Casino seemed like a good time. So far it has been. "I did it because I was bored. I have a gift when it comes to winning, at just about anything. Be it cards, races, betting odds. I never lose, sorry that your Casino was the latest victim. It wasn't anything personal." He looks at his men in slight disbelief at my lack of fear. He pulls out a blaster and points it right between my eyes.
I don't flinch, not even blink. He sees my lack of fear and starts laughing to himself. "Now you got some balls out you, kid. Normally I'd just shoot you, and forget about you. However, your little story has me intrigued. How about you help me with a job, and I'll double the 4.4 million credits you took from me." I can't help being interested. I nod my head for him to continue. He puts his blaster away and waves for them to let me go. "You see, there is this business rival of mine. His name is Paulie, he takes customers from my Casino with his." I can see where this is going.
