I subconsciously gripped my necklace out of habit and ran my finger across it. I vividly recall taking it off the day before but I don't recall putting it back. Did it came back on its own? It had happened once before when I was young.

I had lost it while climbing a tree to collect bird eggs. It was the year my parents died, they returned home from one of their numerous trips and had gifted me this necklace on my 7th birthday.
