Bab 36: Room

{Present— In the hideout, eight PM}

At the orders of the Duke, some selected Knights were dispatched to the hideout, to cease the criminals causing such atrocities. I'm organized into a unit with Joel and two more Knights. We dash towards the main hall which Marie showed me before. Noisy racket surrounds me, the many Knights were engaging in a brawl with some criminals, hurriedly, we try to move in further in the hall. After entering a corridor with many rooms, we decide to spilt up as a group and move solo. With a firm nod, each one of us sturdy our hold on our weapon and scatter.

A seemingly simple room catches my attention, my hushed steps take me to the room. I reach to the handle but stop mid-way.

I bang the door wide open, my gaze shooting everywhere for any details. A paltry acrid smell wafts in the atmosphere, making me scrunch. My gaze darts from the lying cards on the table to the abandoned chair, left in a hurry.
