Mana narrowed her eyes at the old man in front of her. How could she not realise what he was thinking about in that sly, old head of his? After all, King Corvus was not an idiot.
However, that was the least of Mana's concerns.
"Papa was livid, of course," she replied casually. "He even said that I was right to scold Raven for his stupidity."
Mana enjoyed the look of shock and disbelief on King Corvus's face.
"Jaren, he – he didn't–" King Corvus began, but then he stopped and shook his head.
Mana raised her eyebrow. "Papa didn't what? Didn't try to kill Raven to eliminate the threat to him, no matter how small?" she asked archly.
King Corvus sighed and nodded. "I would have," he murmured in a low voice. "And I won't blame Jaren if he did, either."
I'm awfully sorry that I've been away for so long. Real life has been rather taxing for the last couple of months. Somewhat settled now.
