I mean, she only recently got in touch with it, so I suggested she keep a little distance from your people. But I'm sure she would like to know you better after meeting her mother."

Akashi's eyes flickered with a mix of skepticism and nonchalance. "Our mother is dead."

"We saw her at the Goddess Luna's tree," Fang let the statement hang in the air, knowing well Akashi wouldn't have tried meeting Ava if the opportunity presented itself. Fang's voice dropped to a more serious tone, "Akashi, don't be so unpleasant. You both only have each other for family."
