Bab 95: Chapter 34 - Demon Lord's Plans for the Future
"Their Rating Game?" the handsome man with crimson hair rubbed his chin. He looked towards the other Demon King, who was hearing the report from the silver-haired battle Maid, and his wife, Grayfia, "Serafall, what do you think?"
"Whatever helps me meet him," Serafall sucked, pressing her breasts against the table as she sulked, "the Dungeons are no fun. I can't see him since all the monsters have turned mindless. It is no fair that Grayfia got to see him."
"I only went because Sir Sirzechs asked me to," Grayfia calmly spoke, "On that matter. His ability seemed to be like he is able to fuse with the other members of his Peerage and enhance their powers. Although Fuse wouldn't be the right word…I still haven't been able to judge what his ability is. Still, we should ban it during the Rating Game or Phenex Family will be humiliated."
"That's true," Sirzechs nodded, "Ok, I was talking with the Phenex Family, and they understand the circumstances. They would have backed off if Rias properly used Red Dragon Emperor's unique position in her favour…"
He sighed, "To think that she would instead become the Queen of Dungeon Master."
"Sir Sirzechs…he seemed to be interested in the power of Phenex Family. Lady Rias asked me to see if there is anyone in the Phenex Family who would like to become a member of his Peerage. Preferably a girl."
"Hoooh," Serafall chuckled, "Phenex Family would be over the moon if they heard that request. Although, only a few high-level ones know that the Dungeon Master himself had made a vessel for himself and left his Fortress. They are dying to learn the secrets of the Dungeon from him."
"Hahah," Sirzechs scratched his cheek, "if I weren't the Demon Lord, they'd be cursing me for being opportunistic after hearing the news of Rias's Peerage."
"Who dares," Grayfia narrowed her eyes.
"Yeah, they don't dare, doesn't mean they don't think," Serafall blinked, "if my Sona wasn't so stubborn then I would have her transfer to his Peerage right away!"
Sirzechs let out a smile, "Grayfia, how many pieces has he used."
"His pieces, they are drastically different from what Lady Rias used. Since the power of Pieces depends on the King Piece. It took Rias 8 Pawns to turn Issei into her Peerage Member, and a mutated piece for Gasper," Grayfia reminded him, "Rook for Koneko. Both Bishops, Gasper and Asia. Kiba for Knight. And Eight Pawns of Issei."
"As for Lord Aransae's – Queen is used by Lady Rias, Bishop is used by Akeno and Asia. Rook is used by Koneko. Knight by Kiba. Gasper and Issei both are in use of One Pawn."
"One, even for the Red Dragon Emperor?" Sirzechs cautiously asked.
"Yes."
"Hah, should I say as expected of Dungeon Master?" Sirzechs lowered his eyes with a troubled look, "We couldn't even go past the Thirteenth Floor. And the creature on the Thirteenth Floor. Its powers might rival that of Heavenly Dragons, and a powerful opponent at that. A Heavenly Dragon can be beaten, but that…"
"Technically, he isn't the power, but the will, right?" Serafall raised her chin, resting it on both her palms. She smiled, "He lacks most of his powers, so he shouldn't be creating any trouble for you."
"If only it was that simple," Sirzechs rubbed his forehead, "According to Ajuka, who is researching the Dungeon, him sending out his will might be an escape from the sudden increasing amounts of energy after the Dungeon expanded and the numbers of visitor increased. For him, this is basically like training. If he gains power that is not from the Dungeon, and is able to clear more of that collection of energy, then he might be able to gain control of the Dungeon. That is why Ajuka helped him make a vessel to house his will."
"This is a dangerous gamble," Sirzechs took a deep breath, "how he lives…what kind of life he lives would be the deciding factor in the direction he would take as he becomes the Dungeon Master again."
"That's true. Though there is no need for Sir to worry. From what I have seen, he is living a good life," Grayfia gently bowed and said, "as far as I know the current members of Phenex Family. Lady Phenex would be more his type, but her daughter would prove better if we are going for an emotional bond."
"Then, all's that left is to set a tone. Currently, only a few Noble Houses know about the Dungeon Master and Rias becoming his Queen. The only reason why Phenex Clan knows is because you had to tell them, with Rias being Phenex boy's fiancée. Sooner or later, it is going to come out," Serafall raised her eyebrows, "what do you want the narrative to be?"
"Well, it can't be that Rias hated the idea of marrying into Heir of Phenex that much that she became a Queen of a Human," Sirzechs scratched his head, "No matter what excuse I come up with, nothing justifies Rias's action. If I say that she fell in a love with a human, then it makes sense that she refuses to marry, but that's no excuse for giving him your King Piece and becoming his Queen. That would leave a negative image in the minds of people, especially for the human."
"Then the best thing is to hide this news as much as possible until we can show some of Dungeon Master's achievement. His powers," Serafall stopped in the middle, "Right! Rather than going for lovey-dovey idea! How about making it a strategic decision."
"Hm, I am listening," Sirzechs raised his curious eyes.
"As far as I know, he is using his Contract Powers, right? Before he used to take over someone else's body to come out, and in turn they would be granted power. If we portray it as a strategic decision to distribute his strength through the King Piece to the other Pieces equally or along those lines, then we can say that Rias did it to make her Peerage Stronger!"
"People would just say that Heir of Gremory House would do anything for power," Grayfia furrowed her brows.
"Then again, when has that been a bad thing for us Demons," Sirzechs narrowed his eyes, smiling, "Demons respect the powerful. This is good. Let's go with that. If some strange rumours starts then we will immediately start popularising that idea. If he shows that ability during the Rating Game—"
"It is banned during the Rating Game," Grayfia interrupted him.
"Oh, yeah. Maybe then later," the Demon King scratched his cheek, "In official rating game, let's first let him show that power, and then we can ban it. In fact, once we ban his power after a showcase, sympathies will be with Rias since she sacrificed her position as the King, and became a Queen to a Human. Yet, the power she gained was so strong that it had to be banned from Rating Games."
"Let's not forget there is still the Red Dragon Emperor there," Serafall grinned, "I am excited as for Rias's debut now."
Sirzechs smiled, "True…I am also excited to meet the Dungeon Master."
