Bab 16: "Weird creatures...."

"Hey, this couch is new. Did you replace the old one?" When Ivan did not say anything, Jason grinned, "Is this how rich people live?"

Scrunching his brows, Ivan snapped, "How does that even make sense? You know what, just forget it."

"Woah, you seem pissed. Do you want me to leave?"

"I never said that."

"Of course you didn't, I know you love me."

Helplessly shaking his head, Ivan sighed. There was no doubt he had the craziest family ever. Each and everyone was insanely weird without any exception.

"Of course you will find us weird now, you are used to staying with not so very weird people. But let me tell you one thing bro, humans are the most weird creatures on this entire planet," Jason stated.

"I never said humans aren't weird and can you please stop peeping into my thoughts? A little mental privacy will be appreciated." Walking towards his chair, he asked, "So how is everything there?"

"You mean how is everything at home?" When he nodded his head, Jason answered, "Everything is fine, nothing unusual except for a few things but I am sure Darius will handle that well."

"What few things?" Ivan frowned.

"You know what it is," Jason sighed. "Damn, I seriously need a break from all of this."

"We are going to the club today, you can join us if you want to." Out of all his family members, he considered Jason as the most sane one. Well, at least he wasn't as persistent and annoying like Darius.

Since Ivan had left the clan, Jason was one of the few people whom he was in constant touch with and also someone he trusted the most.

"I would love too," Jason beamed. "Since I have plans at night with you, I should go and finish my work beforehand. Darius will kick my ass if I keep any pending work and party around at night. You know how your brother is—"

"Of course, no one knows him better than I do," Ivan muttered.

Contemplating for a while, Jason hesitantly asked, "I don't mean to get into this but do you have any plans of maybe—you know, coming back home?" When Ivan shook his head, he quickly added, "That's alright, you should do what you feel like. Anyway, I'll take my leave now and I'll see you at the bar."

Before Ivan could warn him to be careful around Athan, Jason was nowhere to be seen. Scrunching his brows, he shouted, "Will you guys at least take the door sometimes?"

Helplessly shaking his head, he muttered, "Weird creatures."

"Well, don't forget that you are one of us too."

"What the—why are you back?" Ivan widened his eyes in shock.

"I forgot to tell you about the reunion," Jason answered. When Ivan frowned, he explained, "The one which happens every twenty-five years."

"Oh, it's this year?"

'The Reunion' was a get together of all supernatural creatures to call for peace and harmony. It was organized after every twenty-five.

"Yes, it's this year. Though we have four months in hand, the preparations have already started and invitations are being sent out," Jason explained.

"That is great, I hope you guys have fun."

"Mmm, you are not coming?" When Ivan shook his head, he sighed, "Come on, how can you miss the reunion? Remember last time we had so much fun, you should seriously attend it. This way, you can catch up with your old friends."

"You were my only friend Jason," Ivan remarked.

Shrugging his shoulders, he answered, "Well, catch up with me then." When he did not say anything, Jason approached him. "Look, I am sorry for violating your privacy but I know you are considering attending it. Can you please think about it more?"

"I don't know Jason, maybe I'll think about it later when I have time."
