Apparently, a B-Rank Dungeon had spawned in the middle of the road, and that's why the traffic was so bad. Within moments, Jinwoo had left the car and had already made his way to the dungeon. I of course wanted to join him in this dungeon raid, but with his passing comment, I was sat straight back into my seat.
So, there I sat in the car, for thirty minutes until a soaking wet Jinwoo placed himself back in the driver's seat.
"Red Gate?" I asked as traffic started to move once more.
"Red Gate." He nods.
Instead of heading home to get changed into more comfortable clothing, Jinwoo took us to our office.
Still dripping liquid, we walk in on a furiously typing Jinho who then suddenly laid back.
"Whew- Another one." Jinho breaths. "I dealt with another group slandering Jinwoo and Shiro.
"You've been working hard."
"Ah!" Jinho nearly falls from his chair if not for me holding the back of it, "Hyung-nim!"
"Did anything happen?" Jinwoo questions.
"No, Hyung-nim. But why do you look like that?"
Handing Jinho a bag full of essence stones, Jinwoo answers, "I just got out of a gate. You said we needed some money to establish the Guild, right?"
As Jinho is looking through the essence stones, he makes the passing remark, "I was recently given a call by Mr. Go who said that if we want to establish our guild, we're going to need one more member."
"Huh?" My face contorts, "Why?"
"He said it had something along the lines that you and Jinwoo would be Co-Guild Masters and so therefore there needs to be another member that can give a supporting role to the guild itself." Jinho cheekily states, "I myself am not against it since I could definitely use someone else to help me in keeping this guild running while the two of you are off running into dungeons."
"Sounds fair enough." Jinwoo dries his hair.
Jinho then turns and gives us a serious glare, "There's one more urgent matter to take care of. Our Guild Name, remember?"
"Jinwoo left before we could decide on that." I stare.
"Yeah, I know, that's why I'm bringing it up again."
"Why not just 'Solo Play Guild'?"
Both Jinho and I stop staring at one another and slowly turn our heads to Jinwoo with the 'Are you serious?' look.
"What?"
Before I can even start harassing Jinwoo about his horrible naming sense, the door to our office is knocked on.
"Is this Hunter Shiro Urokodaki's Guild Office." I hear a familiar feminine voice ask.
"Technically… but who… Hunter Cha Hae-In?!"
Peeking around the door, I blink at Hae-In.
"Any particular reason for dropping by Hae-In?"
"I want… to join your Guild."
Bringing her in, I sit her down and ask her to clarify.
"Well, I heard the situation that Mr. Go had placed on your Guild, and so I want to join it."
'How is there already word about that going around?' I think to myself before asking Hae-In, "Are you in bad relations with Choi Jong-In or the Hunters Guild?"
"Huh… No…"
"Then what reason would you have to join us?" I inquire before then asking, "You do know the reason why Jinwoo and I are Co-Guild Leaders, right?"
"All the information that was told to other Guilds was that your up-and-coming Guild needed another member." Hae-In reveals.
"Well, to put it simply, Mr. Go is forcing us to grab another member because we need another member to do actual Guild Work. Jinwoo and I will be constantly raiding dungeons and therefore, we need multiple members to build connections with other Guilds and do the 'dirty work' that people like you or me will never do."
"So, is that a no then?" Hae-In hangs her head low.
"Why are you so adamant about wanting to join. You still have a contract with the Hunters Guild, don't you? Plus, our Guild doesn't have anything to offer… unless…"
I kept the remainder of the comment in my head because there was a very dangerous, dense man standing behind me who'd try and kill me.
Hae-In's face grew dangerously red, and she looked at the wall while fanning her face.
Sighing, I stand up, "Well, how about this… If you can beat my strongest summoning, then we'll add you to our Guild."
Hae-In's expression grows dark, "Shiro, is your evaluation of me that low?"
"Never…" I shake my head.
Standing up as well, Hae-In asks, "When's the test?"
"Right now… We're going to do it at the Association's Gymnasium."
Seeing her nod her head, she walks away, and I start chuckling.
"Not that way."
"Huh?"
Walking up to her, I grab her by the waist and bring her close. Using 'transferable light', we appear in the center of the gymnasium, being illuminated by its lights.
'Are these lights just always on?' I ask myself.
Shaking my head clear, I release Hae-In, "Let's begin."
Turning towards me, Hae-In comments, "Now that I think about it, I left my weapon…"
"There should be a decent enough weapon in storage."
Walking out of storage with a long, thin sword in hand, I give a nod of my head and call, "Aeri."
"This…" Hae-In stares at Aeri wide eyed, "This is the Queen from the raid?"
"Surprised you got that. After all, its form has changed rather dramatically."
"But wasn't the Queen rather… weak?"
I could feel Aeri's aura spike upon being insulted, but a glare from me caused her to rescind her aura.
"This IS my STRONGEST summon. I would not lie to you Hae-In. Ask and I shall tell."
Swallowing her saliva, Hae-In breaths in begore then changing her stance and emitting her own orangish aura.
Reaching above herself, Aeri materializes her dual sickles.
"You are to defeat her without seriously harming her."
'Yes, my savior.'
Removing myself from the equation, I stick my hand above me and then chop it down, causing wind to rush past Hae-In and Aeri.
Raising her leg and placing both sickles behind her head, Aeri slams it down, causing the entire gymnasium to shake violently, before then swinging her sickles out in front of her. The air in front of Aeri was torn open and continued to be shred until it reached Hae-In.
Wavering ever so slightly, Hae-In then suddenly ducks under the twin slashes and uses her dodge to fluidly move herself towards Aeri.
Aeri, upon seeing this, rushed forward, appearing behind Hae-In and tried to crosscut her body.
Whipping around, Hae-In forces Aeri to cancel her technique by stabbing her sword an innumerable number of times. Yet, almost like she had swung her sickles a singular time, all Hae-In's stabs were blocked and Aeri stood there towering over Hae-In.
Watching Aeri's mouth open, her earth-shattering scream sounds out, causing almost every light in the gymnasium to flicker out and Hae-In to be sent backwards.
"You satisfied?" I can't help but ask.
"Not yet…" Hae-In breaths, "I can keep going."
Hearing her say this, Aeri screams in my mind, 'She dare refuse the good will of you, my savior, that is simply unacceptable!!!'
The air around Aeri once again reverts to her threatening one and she speeds forward, causing the ground to shoot up around her.
Slamming her sickles down onto Hae-In, Hae-In barely dodges off to the side, getting pelted by the ground Aeri had knocked up, the entire time.
Getting her footing once more, Hae-In's aura becomes more condensed on her sword, and she swings. Yet, meeting the carapace that Aeri wore, the blade shattered. Still amid her motion however, Hae-In's blade changes to one of pure light and she tries to stab at Aeri once more.
'Good attempt.' I nod my head before running forward myself.
Aeri, who had cut the Sword of Light in half with her sickles, had now ducked under Hae-In's remaining blade, still completely enraged and ready to inflict permanent damage.
Diving into the small, almost nonexistent, gap between Hae-In and Aeri. I grip the tips of Aeri's sickles in my fingers.
The air from Aeri's movements knocks into me, but the sickles nor I move a single bit.
"The battle is finished Aeri. Good job, you proved yourself competent in the face of Hunters."
Instantly, Aeri's anger evaporated, and her demeanor turned bright as her blades faded into light particles.
'Thank you for the praise, my savior.' Aeri giggles, 'Also, this girl has an interesting skill. She'd make for a good Queen.'
Desummoning Aeri for that comment, I turn and face Hae-In, only to remember that we were very close to one another. Looking each other in the eye, Hae-In's face turns tomato red, but neither of us move.
"Want me to ask why you're trying so hard to enter our nameless Guild? Or would you rather me play the guessing game?"
Hearing only silence as a response as Hae-In continued to stare at me, I place my hands on her shoulders.
"Now, be honest Hae-In… Is the only reason for you trying to join our Guild to be by my side?"
This evoked a reaction from Hae-In as she slipped from my grasp and backed up a few steps.
Finally breaking eye contact with me, Hae-In lowers her head and mumbles, "Yes…"
Tilting her head back up to look at me, she can only find me giving her a full-mouthed grin.
Without another word, Hae-In walks away and straight out the gymnasium, leaving her shattered sword behind. Looking at all the chaos and carnage that was caused, I walk out of the gymnasium, truthfully expecting that none of this would bite me in the as*.
Taking my long-awaited shower of the day, I exit to find Jinah lounging on the couch in her normal wear. Peeking over her phone at me, her face instantly morphs into a blush, and she covers her face with her phone.
"Jinah, am I a lady killer?"
Instead of getting the expected flustered response, Jinah drops her phone from her face and gives me a particular look.
"You have four… wives. And me… so of course you're a lady killer. Why?"
Jinah's face then morphs into one of worry, "Wait, don't tell me that you managed to attract the interest of another girl… I don't want any more competition."
Leaning over the side of the couch, I say, "Unfortunately…"
"Huh, how'd that happen… You literally don't spend time with females other than me…" Jinah then holds her hand in front of her face, "Wait… she's a hunter isn't she."
I nod my head.
"So, lemme guess, you saved her in a dungeon and now she's head over heels for you?"
I shake my head, "Our first interaction was in front of an A-Rank Dungeon Boss where she warned me to stay away."
"And when was this?" Jinah jabs at me with her feet.
"A few months ago…"
"…Alright, since you won't just directly tell me, let me ask. Who is it?"
"Cha Hae-In."
Jinah's face morphs into one of surprise, "The prettiest and strongest S-Class female in the world? Why her of all people?"
I shrug my shoulders, "How should I know? I don't know how other people (females) think."
Jinah then puffs out her cheeks cutely and looks away. "Have you told her that you're married?"
"Nope…" I instantly answer.
Jinah abruptly sits up, "Alright then… it'll be your mission to have Cha Hae-In come here so that the two of us can talk and decide your fate. And I won't be taking no for an answer… You owe me after all…"
"You're surprisingly lenient with me…" I chuckle and then lean over and plant a kiss on her forehead, "But that's just one more reason why I love you."
Walking away towards my room, Jinah's mind finally catches up and she screams, "Shiro, you can't just do that!" I then hear her whisper to herself, "At least not yet…"
Having one of the best nights of rest in a long time, I wake up to find Jinwoo having come up with a new Guild Name that I like.
"Let's call it the Ahjin Guild."
"Jinah helped you to make it, didn't she?" I stare at him blankly.
Instead of answering me, Jinwoo asks, "Well, what do you think?"
I give him two thumbs up, "I like it… Now all we must do is get the seal of approval from Jinho and then we're good."
Hopping in the car, we drive off to the office.
