There are several reasons why Prince Blaise agreed with the Old Man who turned out to be the Former King of Hoonen. As the King is currently under treatment in the hospital due to a fire, the Old Man must take control for the sake of his people. 

The father of King Hoonen currently had no other choice as he soon had to decide on several things other than the matter of supplying food for the winter. There is damage to the petroleum processing center south of Hoonen which needs to be repaired but they don't have the money. 

"Don't worry, Sir Cedric. I have already prepared financial aid and groceries. Chances are in a week it will arrive on time." Prince Blaise smiled the kindest smile he could muster.
