Bab 159: To the Mines

At Illarion's warning, Mattheus glanced behind him and moved aside just in time for Klaus to rush out through the hole the berserker made with his body. The twenty-one-year-old had seen the eyes of the gray-haired hunter and figured the man was good to go for another round.

When healing Klaus, he had noticed the slight difference to healing regular humans, after all. There was an almost terrifying ease in which his healing magic coaxed the berserker's body to full health—as if the berserker was already healing himself by the time Mattheus got to him.

Not at amazing speeds but still at a noticeably different pace.

It was the first time he encountered anything faintly resembling his healing magic, even if there seemed to be key differences.

Now, if only Mattheus could heal himself that well. Sure, he healed at a quicker pace but if he could control it…
