The cat replied calmly. "Most of the villagers were either running away or facing toward something. It could have been multiple attackers or some other explanation of course, but triangulating their focus—the ones that weren't disturbed over time—results in—"

"The church, I know," he whispered. There was a bit of urgency to his demeanor as if he wanted his friend to get to the point already. "But why the cemetery first?"

"It is always best to check the perimeter first," Brunilda stated as the thick brush of her tail disappeared around the corner. "And I'm not that comfortable in churches anymore, so…"

Mattheus waited for a moment so the feline could continue, before realizing she might have seen something that rendered her at a loss for words within the cemetery.

He hesitated just a second before gritting his teeth and speeding up as quickly as he could while maintaining a level of stealth.

"Stop!" came the loud order from Brunilda.
