Seraphine feels her cheeks burning - not with shame, really, because Eric has said things like that before.
And knowing he knows she's in the mood is kind of delicious in a way. But he doesn't have to come out and say it while she's trying to help cook. So, she puts down the knife and huffs, "That's mean! Teasing like that."
"Teasing?"
"Here I've been patient and all. I've been restraining myself, you know."
He looks amazed - like he's on the verge of asking her why she would do that.
The eels are twitching, and the rice is nearly done. Now that she thinks about it, she is hungry for dinner, after all. She puffs her lower lip at him, not quite woefully.
"But we might as well eat."
---
Soon, Eric and Seraphine are too stuffed to eat any more.
"I'll wash up. You did the hard part with the eels," she told him, waving him away from the empty bowls.
