"How did it go?" Scarlet asked when all three of them returned to her room.
"A bit messy but everything was fine. I signed the contract and he left angrily," Amethyst replied with a sigh.
"It doesn't seem it is already over though," Scarlet noticed the look on their faces and commented.
Eduard shook his head with a sigh, "He left not looking resigned but just left angrily. You know people like that, if they left angrily. It means that they have more things they are going to do."
"And we hope that it is not something that would make it too much of a trouble for her," Slate continued.
All three of them had the serious at the same time troubled face.
Amethyst's last words made the two of them feel sad but what give them hope was the fact that she was thinking deeply about it.
This also give them the peace of mind that the story will flow beautifully. Because if she were to just continue it then that means that the emotion would be lacking for she will be writing it for the soul purpose of finishing the story.
That is not what Scarlet wants and that is the real reason she had picked Amethyst.
Amethyst cares for the story a lot.
Not just her own but the story of others.
Before getting back to the hospital, she left them a few more words.
'I don't want this final story of Scarlet to end up just like Astral's latest work, 'Her Hidden Self'. The emotions it should portray disappeared towards the second half.'
Eduard had to agree with her, as compared to the past works of Astral, the latest was the most lacking. Even the others had to agree with this because it was as clear as day.
That is also the reason why the news of a ghost writer was still spreading despite Emerald admitting the half truth.
"Are you guys really looking like that in a patient's room?" Scarlet placed both hands on her waist as she reprimanded them.
"Especially you Slate, when I sighed while sitting beside the sick Amethyst, you reprimanded me. Now you are doing the same and you are not even embarrassed about it," she looked at her brother and said.
Hearing this, Amethyst looked up, when she was sick? She was sighing and he reprimanded her?
"Oh that's right, you were asleep. Of course, you were, that is why you don't know about it," Scarlet said noticing her movement.
Amethyst looked at the other two, why was Scarlet contradicting herself?
And why was she suddenly being berated as well?
"Eduard, why are you still here? Go and get back to your home, Anna is surely waiting for you," Scarlet clapped her hands.
"Okay, okay, why am I being berated at as well?" Eduard asked as he picked up his things.
"See you guys. And Amethyst, I will be speaking with them tomorrow. Whatever we will be talking about I will relay it to you," he said bidding them goodbye.
"And? Still looking down?" Scarlet once again said making Amethyst and Slate to stand straight as if they were being berated by their teacher.
Scarlet sighed at their reaction, "Okay, let's do it this way. Why not the both of you stay at our place Slate?"
Slate looked at her with furrowed brows while Amethyst was staring at her as if asking whether she was serious or not.
"Don't look at me like that. I am very much serious of what I am telling you guys right now," Scarlet raised an eyebrow at their reaction.
"You two should stay in one place," she added.
"We are though, we are in one building, one floor," Amethyst tried to reason out.
"Yes, but what if they knocked at your door or waited until you came home and he was inside not knowing what was going outside?" Scarlet asked in return.
"I-"
"Are you going to tell me, you are going to shout?" Scarlet interrupted her and all Amethyst could do was to purse her lips because that was what she was planning to say.
"That is why I am telling you to stay together, at the very least until your past stops running after you," Scarlet shook her head and sigh.
"Aren't I supposed to have a say on this as well?" Slate finally spoke up.
"Yes you can. But are you really going to leave a young woman on her own in this kind of time?" Scarlet looked at him and asked.
Slate stared at her in disbelief, she just said that he can say what was on his mind but she, in the end, was actually tripping him with guilt.
"You really just said that didn't you?" he asked her.
"Yes I just said it. Do you want me to repeat what I just said?" she asked again.
"No," he raised his hand while placing the other on his forehead.
"I understand, I won't say anything, she can stay over," he added.
Amethyst looked at him as if asking him this time, if he was serious.
"Do you think we can still do anything right now? This is a sick person's request," he told her.
Amethyst was in disbelief, it was okay in th epast because it was only once in a while at the same time, Scarlet was also there with them. But this time it was different, she wants them to stay in one unit for a long while.
A week or two at that.
"Scar-"
"Nope, rejected. I am thinking for your own good. And as the person who is in the hospital, I don't want to be worrying over your safety when I am supposed to have a proper rest," Scarlet said without waiting for anything she has to say.
Amethyst pursed her lips, Scarlet was guilt tripping her with Scarlet's condition.
Amethyst and Slate looked at one another before sighing.
"Fine if that is what you wish, then I'll refix the place to let her stay," Slate said to her afterwards.
"Oh, my room is still off limits," Scarlet said with a grin.
Slate had his mouth agape after hearing this.
If her room was still off limits then that means that the one to be used is his room instead.
He once again sighed, for the nth time, "I understand."
"I can sleep in the sofa," Amethyst couldn't help but to butt in.
"It is fine, I have a bed in the study because I spend most of my time in there than in my room, you can use the room instead. I'll just get my things and it is ready to be used," Slate answered truthfully.
Amethyst scratched her cheek, "I am being a trouble to you again."
"No, it is not you but those people who doesn't even know their limit," Scarlet scrunched up her face as she said this.
Amethyst sighed tiredly, "Yes, they really don't know when enough is enough. Truly how tiring their characters are."
She was stunned when Slate suddenly patted her head, "Don't think too much about them now. Relax and just focus on what you and Scarlet are doing."
Scarlet smiled widely looking at their interaction but she chose not to say anything and instead yawned loudly, "I think I am too sleepy now. You guys can go home. I'll be fine on my own here."
Since it was already afternoon and they still need to fix the place, Slate nodded his head, "We should go now."
"I'll come back tomorrow, Scar," Amethyst waved Scarlet goodbye.
Scarlet waved her hand in return with a smile.
As the two of them traveled down Session Road, Amethyst looked at her closed store.
"Do you want to open up again?" Slate asked noticing her look.
"No, it is fine. I want to focus on helping out Scarlet but admittedly I miss the place," she replied with a smile.
"Don't hesitate to tell us anything, if you want to open up or not. Or any other more things," he then said after a bit of thinking.
Amethyst smiled, "I understand. I won't hold back in the future then."
