Bab 36: Chapter 36: What Is Important

Despite the thoughts of not wanting to get involved any longer.
The thumping in her chest continued and it was as if it was telling her to go. To see it and to watch it.
To know more about the outside despite having lived her life in this monotonous world.
With this urging and the reality that she was no longer enjoying everything that was surrounding her, she finally clenched her hands into fists and walked towards the window, she pulled open the curtain and opened the window she had been trying to avoid all this time.
The moment she did, what welcomed her were the running horses, some were moving in a circle manner, as if on a set course while others were trailing the mountain side and the view of the trees and more beside it were extraordinary.
The girl she saw a few days back were riding a black horse and the horse was actually running along another trail. Her wind fluttering on the wind but she didn't care, she was laughing and enjoying her time.
Towards the end, it seems that she had once again felt a person watching her that she turned her horse to look towards the girl in the window and upon seeing her watching there, she smiled brightly and energetically waved her hand.
The girl in the window was shocked when she saw this and could only awkwardly nod her head in response.
This was her very first interaction in her whole life that she actually didn't know how to do it properly.
After this bit of interaction, the girl in the window closed it again and went up to her room and laid quietly on her bed.
As compared to her first encounter, she was no longer as nervous as now. And she somehow felt light after the pondering she had been doing all this time.

Amethyst thought for a bit before replying, "You want me to see how she will react to it?"
Eduard nodded his head, "I know you aren't the kind type who would let her bask in the fame, if so then you wouldn't be sitting here right in front of me. And would remain as her shadow. This is an opportunity for you, to see how she is currently and how she will handle things rather than just thinking of it."
Scarlet looked at Amethyst, she didn't want to comment cause everything boils down to what Amethyst wants to do.
But she couldn't help but think that Eduard haven't changed, he has a knack of knowing the character of people just by looking into the decisions that they have done.
Amethyst started thinking deeply about it, Eduard was right, it wouldn't be bad to see how Emerald would react to all of this. If so does she really not want to see it?
She remembered the times she had told Emerald about her stories, filled with enthusiast and thought about the time that Emerald mercilessly took credit of everything.
Her smile on the interviews, her confidence of the work.
"I'll go," she then said filled with determination.
Scarlet and Eduard smiled while Slate looked at her with approval, this is a good start for her to truly face her past. To not think about the what ifs and the if only but to really face it and really let it go towards the end.
She chuckled, "I guess I really am lucky that I was able to meet you guys."
She looked at Scarlet after looking at Slate, "I became better as a person who only knows how to be depressed and now I can actually have the courage to see her. Well I think I still wouldn't be able to face her but seeing her was already a big leap."
"I guess that is set then, we will wait for the invitations then," Scarlet clapped her hands and said.
"I can watch over you on that day," Eduard then said upon remembering that Scarlet would be left alone.
"And we have things to discuss about your current book."
"Then I guess, I won't turn down your offer. You two can enjoy your selves on that day."
Amethyst gave them a glance but she didn't say anything. But this glance was still seen by Scarlet and had a knowing smile.
Eduard left afterwards and will be returning, three days later for the invitation on the evening of that same day. At the same time to stay with Scarlet.
"Are you not going to ask anything?" Scarlet asked Amethyst as they started talking about the book again.
"Ask anything?" Amethyst looked at her and asked wondering what she had meant.
"Yes, I saw the look you have a while ago when Eduard was here, you were wondering about something," Scarlet replied.
"Oh."
Amethyst fall silent before opening her mouth, "There's really nothing though. Indeed I had a question in my mind but I am not too curious about it for me to really question it."
Because that was the truth, she was not too curious about it for her to ask Scarlet about her past. That was her past and Amethyst being the person she is, was not too interested in such matters.
She wasn't being a pain or anything, she wasn't too nonchalant or has no care about their past but that this kind of past is something she was really not interested in.
Others maybe, but she wasn't. Curiosity appeared on her mind but it ended there.
Scarlet smiled, "Then I'll just tell you."
Amethyst could only chuckle, if she wants to tell her about it then she wouldn't stop her and would be all ears for her.
"He was my editor and my ex fiance. Our relationship was actually where I based Her Wonderland. The happiness I felt during our time together and the experiences were all things I added in Her Wonderland," Scarlet started.
"I wondered why it seemed to be a different fantasy novel. There were more emotions and your portrayed the main protagonist very differently than the others," Amethyst replied, thinking back to the time she first read Her Wonderland, and thought how special it felt.
Scarlet smiled, "Yes, all emotions was placed in that story. And I was able to create a different masterpiece because of that. It was all thanks to him, he brought it out for me. Too bad, he was able to brought it out when we went our separate ways."
"Was it..."
Scarlet looked at her when she started speaking.
"Was it a mutual decision?"
Scarlet smiled and nodded her head, "Watching me pains him and watching him being in pain because of my sickness pains me as well. In the end we were hurting each other despite not wanting to. So I started the talk, maybe it is time for us to end it because I know for sure that I have so little time left. I actually didn't expect I'd last six years, maybe because Slate was there to make sure that I am eating and doing what was best for my body."
"Do you regret it?" Amethyst asked again.
Scarlet didn't give a thought and answered instantly, "No, because he was able to find his smile again and I was able to see him do so. For me that is more than enough, if I had died while watching him suffer then I would have had more regrets."
"Then there is no more things for me to say because that is what is important, that you are at peace with all your decisions no matter how painful they were in the past," Amethyst said before fkashing a very beautiful smile.
Scarlet understood that she asked those questions not iut of curiosity but instead it was because, she had done so in her life.
She left and was hurt but she didn't regret leaving.
She turned away from her identity as Astral but she didin't want to return as her.
She wanted to return as a new her, the real her. That's what Scarlet could see in Amethyst right now.
