"Username, Austin, 400 thousand!"
"Username, Mighty-man, 401 thousand!"
"Username Austin, 450 thousand!"
"Username, Mighty-man, 451 thousand!"
Kannon announced the highest bidder repeatedly. However, strangely, the first item was only filled by two people who seemed to be competing.
"Hey, you, do you really want to taunt me with that? Are you deliberately trying to offend me?" Austin called out to the group not far from him.
"Oh, aren't you Young Master Austin? It's an auction. Anyone can place their bid if they want." Mike commented casually without the slightest bit of fear. In fact, he tried his best to be as natural as possible.
"Tch, then try to challenge me if you can. Watch your attitude and wallet, or you'll end up embarrassing yourself later." Austin clicked his tongue in annoyance. Then, he placed a higher bid as if his intention to acquire the item was obvious.
"Username Austin, 650 thousand!"
'That world of cultivation is indeed cruel and expensive. One fragment of fire elemental stone like that alone can easily reach 6 thousand dollars...' Mike heaved a subtle sigh as he was aware of his tiny existence. However, it was only in the heart. He still exuded an aura of confidence on the outside as if his charm could attract anyone's attention.
"Username, Mighty-man, 651 thousand!" The bidding war retook place, and Kannon happily announced the highest bidder as if he was relentless.
"Minako-sama, why are you giggling while glancing at Might-sama? Has that young man's charm entered your eyes?" A girl asked with a neutral look.
"Ufufu... It's nothing, Yura. It's just, it's going to be interesting." Minako whispered and used her folding fan to cover her mouth.
"Mike-sama or Austin-sama?" Yura glanced at the two men she mentioned.
"The answer to your question is the former. For some reason, I feel there is a big secret behind this young man. Yuna-chan is very lucky to get him first before the others. Then, as for the latter, I feel that he will lose face in this event." Minako whispered once again to convey what she got.
"As usual, your foreboding abilities are quite terrifying, Minaki-sama." Yura just gave an understanding look and didn't say anything else.
Her young lady was attracted to the other's boyfriend for a reason. She knew there really was something big behind the unsaid.
"Fufu, and that's only a few who dares to speak by looking me in the eye. But, he is courageous, I say." After saying that, Minako just watched the bidding war between Mike and Austin. Although the winner had not yet been decided, she could already predict what would happen in the end.
"Username, Mighty-man, one million five hundred thousand!"
"Username Austin, two million! The first item in this auction actually caught the attention of two great youths with a fire affinity. They both have a fiery spirit!" Kannon commented with a big smile on his face. The more expensive the item being auctioned off, the more he would welcome it with open arms.
Austin gritted his teeth to place the bid that high for the first item. Consciously or not, his ego was bruised because of Mike's every behavior toward Yuna. He would just wait for Mike to bid at a higher value, then send a remarkable phrase and let his opponent have it for a very high price.
Unfortunately, after two seconds, Mike no longer had any intention of bidding again. He thought that was enough to annoy Austin. More than that value, he would take a considerable risk, and he seemed to know it.
"Hey, why don't you challenge me anymore? Is your money not enough? It's a shame, a peasant challenging a noble. A poor person like you will only make your girlfriend feel miserable." Austin tried to taunt Mike with a sneer.
"You may have misunderstood me, Young Master Austin. I can see that you really want that Blazing Inferno Gem. Your blazing passion and fiery desire have impressed me. Therefore, I have decided to respect you and let you have the item of your desire. You don't need to thank me. However, that doesn't rule out the possibility that the rest of the audience won't place their bids either. So, good luck." Mike gave an informal salute with two fingers on his brow.
Then, he looked at the stage with a calm and peaceful attitude. It was as if he had just done a good deed.
The rest of the audience seemed to want to shout and remind Mike that no one would bid higher than it because that value was already more than five times the average market price!
Austin gritted his teeth with profound irritation. His estimate was wrong, and he had to buy the item at a high price instead? It should be him trapping the opponent, not the other way around!
"Username Austin, two million! One, two, three. Congratulations to Username Austin for obtaining this rare Blazing Inferno Gem! Please complete the payment through the maid beside you, and this treasure is yours to take home." Kannon opened his arms wide to announce the highest bidder.
Meanwhile, Austin could only regret his decision and lament his ego for being consumed by the desire to make his opponent lose a good amount of money.
"Pfft, somehow, I'm starting to feel sorry for him. I'm impressed that you know when to stop Mike-sama. Your opponent's expression is hilarious, fufu..." Kisa covered her mouth as she couldn't help but giggle.
"A clown." Yukiko muttered under her breath. It was too subtle for anyone to hear. Even so, she didn't hate Mike's actions against that pest.
"What are you saying, Kisa? Young Master Austin has earned my respect. And that's why I stopped bidding for that red gem. There are dozens more waiting for us. I know some have caught your attention." Mike shook his head with a faint smile.
Kisa got a light shock to hear that. But, she smiled at the end. If she didn't know Mike before, maybe she would think that the current Mike was Mike's true nature.
Meanwhile, Yuna just wore a calm expression as if she didn't care about anything. In fact, she was just trying not to laugh or smile at other's misery.
"Reasonable?" Mike asked in a whisper.
"Mm." Yuna replied with a subtle nod.
After that, the auction continued for the subsequent item. Unfortunately, the following few things didn't attract Yuna, Kisa, or Yukiko's attention at all. Therefore, Mike just watched in silence while waiting for any item that caught the girls' attention.
At the same time, he also secretly watched the movements of the individuals who needed more attention. Especially the Austin group and the young masters who would most likely give his Miss Fortune trouble.
