"Terrifying. I feel sorry for Gaius."
Standing at the balcony of an enormous mansion, a man was looking ahead towards his estate. At his side was a cloaked man that was most probably a spy.
"With the help of the Church, Malen would try to get back some of its resourceful territories from us. Should we make preparations?"
The well-dressed man looked at the Spy and said,
"If they have the balls, they could try. But if they think that their alliance with the Church scares me, then massacre would be my first choice."
The spy lowered his head and said,
"Understood. I shall return to the headquarters now."
Mana surrounded the spy, and he disappeared.
The Kingdom of Vasconia. Capital, Bordeaux. A Kingdom on par with Malen in terms of population.
King Louis walked back into his room.
"It will take years for them to stabilize from this mess."
He sat on his desk and took out a book. It was a diary.
<<Imprint>>
He started to move his finger on the paper. Slowly, certain black words started to form.
"We have access to their secrets. If they wish to fight against us, we can use this to cause unrest amongst their populace."
After filling up a page with words, he stopped his spell.
"Now, we have leverage."
He placed the diary back inside his desk.
--------------------------------------------------
"A goblin nest."
Anna, Vincent, and Diana had been interrupted by goblins many times on their journey. Their strength kept increasing by the day, but the group was pretty bored. Finally, after killing hundreds of these monsters, they decided to track down their hideout. In their last encounter, they had let one of the B-Class goblins live. After tracking it through the forest, they were finally at the hideout.
"Let me check for the stronger enemies."
"We should flood the nest. It would be easier to kill them all at once."
"We can't do that. Using mana to generate a flood could attract stronger monsters."
Diana looked at her and said,
"Then we will kill them too."
"I don't doubt your ability. I am worried about him."
If a strong monster appears, the mana entity could make another appearance. Anna was not sure that she could handle the entity, even with Diana's help.
Diana looked at Vincent. Anna was right.
"We will be discreet. Here, have some scrolls."
She handed her invisibility and a sound absorption scroll.
Looking back at Vincent, she asked,
"Is that weapon alright?"
It was a short sword. It was longer and heavier than his dagger. He was still getting used to it."
Anna took out a large boulder from a space bag. She placed it on the ground and marked it with some of her mana. After that, she asked,
"Are you ready?"
Both of them nodded.
"Don't let your guard down, even for a second."
All three of them turned invisible. Anna and Vincent entered the entrance, while Diana used her magic to create and maintain a barrier around the place.
Anna and Vincent walked into the hideout and took different sides.
"Upper B Class."
Vincent cautiously approached the monster. Diana used her mana to envelope the goblin, and he used his shortsword to slice through his neck. Using Ignition, he destroyed the body from the inside.
<<Blaze>>
Anna used her sword to burn 5 Goblins in a single slash. Despite being B-Class monsters, they couldn't sense mana due to the lack of its presence underground.
The entrance was cleared.
<<Sense>>
8 more floors to go. Vincent and Anna climbed down the floor, and Diana followed behind.
'Mostly C.'
More than 200 goblins on this floor. These were the foot soldiers.
Anna swiftly went from one goblin to another at tremendous speed, flaunting her sword mastery. Her attacks became faster as time went on. Vincent had barely managed to kill 5 Goblins, and Anna had already incinerated around 50 of them. Soon, the goblins were cleared.
The second floor was clear. The next 5 floors were similar. There was a pantry on the way, a trophy room, an armory filled with useless weapons, and a shrine. The strength of the goblins went IP slightly, but it wasn't that hard.
When they arrived at the 7th floor, it was dense with Mana. Goblins on this floor were mostly mages, and they had sensed their arrival. To welcome them, they launched several spells at them as soon as they entered. Both of them entered from a different side.
Anna simply used her sword to create a barrier around her. Vincent didn't have a barrier to tank the hits from B-Class mages. Diana created a strong barrier to repel the attacks. They used their spells and closed the distance between the mages, executing them in groups.
20 B-Class mages. Killed after a few minutes.
On to the next floor, and it was empty. They searched through the entire place for traps and secret doors, but there was nothing. In fact, there were a few doors that led to the next floor. The Floors were now over 2 miles in length.
The three of them regrouped. This was the entrance to the last floor.
Without making small talk, the three of them entered through the door.
It was very dark, and they couldn't sense anything due to the lack of Mana.
<<Illuminate>>
Diana used some of her reserves to light up the room.
Another shrine. This time, a goblin was kneeling towards a statue of some sort of Deity.
Anna pointed a sword and created a barrier around the goblin. The barrier collapsed into itself and killed the goblin on the spot. Blood splattered on the ground.
"Time to head back up."
They murdered over 1390 goblins. The clean-up was complete.
Vincent looked at the Deity in front of him.
"What is the matter?"
"The blood has disappeared. I saw it being sucked into that statue."
They both looked at the floor. The carcass had vanished.
Anna sensed something big. She grabbed Diana and Vincent and said,
<<Replace>>
Within a second, the three of them found themselves in place of the boulder that she had placed.
"Time to leave."
She grabbed both of their arms tightly and contracted her muscles as hard as she could.
<<Boost>>
She took off. She aimed to create distance between them. It might not be a threat, but she wasn't taking any chances.
They had arrived at the camp within a few seconds. Her muscles were swollen, and she collapsed to the ground.
Vincent and Diana were still in shock. They had goosebumps all over their body and were frozen stiff by the events.
"Help me back into the tent. It will take me about an hour to recover."
She said as if this was a normal thing to her.
Vaccine effed me up. I'll begin posting the chapters regularly from Friday.
Thank you for reading this chapter!
