Bab 10: CHAPTER TEN
It's 7pm and Jian Ji along with Chang Pei were inside a semi demolished temple, the floors were covered with dead insect bodies and the walls covered with thick spiderwebs.
"Let's hope the spiders are not human eating spiders" Chang Pei says burning the cobwebs, the smell making Jian Ji sneeze.
"I'm starving, what should we eat" he says patting his grumbling tummy.
A smile was plastered on Chang Pei's face as she pullled put a bun from her sleeve. Jian Ji eyed the floury treat and licked his lips hungrily.
"My friend, it's always good to share" he says.
"Indeed, however we should trade"
He frowned.
"Trade for what?"
"Tell me what was the argument between you and your friend about"
He was stunned. He sighed and sat on the dusty floor, the insect carcasses crunching like pebbles under his weight.
"He said i didn't want to talk to him so when i did, I did something bad"
"Like what?"
He sighed, it was best to tell the truth.
"We kissed"
Chang Pei's jaw dropped but she quickly regained her composure.
"Okay so you kissed, then? Did he ask why you kissed him? Was he angry?"
"No, well maybe after we kissed because i didn't talk to him "
"Why not?"
"Don't you see what's wrong here? I, a MAN kissed Zixin another MAN"
She stared at him for a minute.
"......and?"
He was baffled, how can she be so calm about this.
"What do you mean and? Shouldn't you be scolding me?"
Ohhh now she gets it, Jian Ji must be from a conservative sect. She giggled.
"Jian Qiang, there are many people out there like you, hell i even kissed another girl at some point"
He couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"You...kissed another girl?"
"Yes, you should lighten up, your parents are not here so there's no need to worry, be free and focus on what's important, yourself"
It seems he had misjudged Chang Pei. She was very smart. A smile formed on his face.
"I'll do that....can we share the bread now?"
"Huh? Hehehe....your story was so good I ate it" she says scratching the back of her head.
Jian Ji sighed and laid down on the floor.
"Just kill me already"

He could hear two new voices in the room, males. Their deep voices sent chills up and down his spine.
"This is the one?" One of them asks.
"He looks a little pathetic to me" another spoke up.
If he were awake, these men wouldn't even dare to say those words to him. humph, cowards!
"That's the point, i can tell he's been through alot, plus he'll be great addition to our group, don't you think?" Huli says.
Zixin wanted to wake up, he forced his eyes to open and could see a blurry picture of Huli talking with two tall men, the other had a pure black robe and the other a very bright blue one.
His hand reached out to the side table near the bed sending a cup to shatter to the ground.
"He's awake"
He saw them walk towards him, his vision cleared up and he gasped then blushed.
Why are these men so handsome?!
"Are you okay? Your face is red" one of them says before kneeling down so he was face to face with Zixin.
Zixin held in his breath as he stared at the man in front of him, his eyes! They were blue and his hair was black with light blue streaks on the sides.
"Eh? Huli are you sure about him? He seems to have a fever"
Zixin watched as Huli swatted the man on the head making him laugh.
"Wei Zixin dear, are you alright? Did you understand what he said?" She asked, when Zixin nodded she smiled.
"Good, I'll introduce you to my family. This is Hai Wangzi, my younger brother, he is our comic relief" she says earning a playful glare from Wangzi.
Zixin's eyes locked with the older man, he had waist length hair that had red tips, his robe was pure black making the tips of his hair stand out.
"And this is Hei Guafu, our older brother"
Zixin was confused, he eyed the three people in front of him.
"You're not sharing the same last name" he pointed out.
Hei Guafu face palmed before walking out.
"Unbelievable"
Hai Wangzi nudged Him on the shoulder with a smile.
"Don't worry about him, he is always cranky, we don't share the same name because we are not related, we only share the same views so we joined forces"
"Oh....what views are they?"
He was to respond when Huli interrupted with a foot stomp on Wangzi's foot.
"Aiya! Evil woman" Wangzi mumbled as he massaged his hurting limb.
"Wei Zixin how are you feeling? Maybe you should go outside and take in some fresh air"
He nodded and stood up from the bed, Hulin led him outside, he gapsed at the view.
The place was very beautiful, he realized he was inside a cave and outside that cave were green trees and fully bloomed flowers in every colour.
"Wow....this is beautiful" he whispers.
"Don't get used to it"
he heard someone speak up from above, he looked upwards and saw Guafu sitting on a tree glaring at him.
Zixin could already tell that this man didn't like him, why? He doesn't know.
"Oh...." he mumbled before Hei Guafu climbed down landing in front of him.
Zixin couldn't help but feel hypnotized by this man's looks, he was handsome, even more than....Jian Ji.
"What are you looking at?" Guafu spat making Zixin flinch.
"O-Oh....I'm sorry" he whispered before turning the other way.
Why was this happening, he's never been like this around anyone. Why is being around Guafu making him insecure and submissive?
"You think you'll be able to make it in this group?" Guafu asked.
To him it was baffling to have a short young man like Zixin in this group. Rather than a teammate, he will be a liability.
Zixin wanted to say no, he wants to go back home but when he remembers that he has nowhere to go. His last hope had seen him get snatched into the lake, he probably moved on, so he should move on as well....right?
But other than that, he wanted to prove this man wrong, Guafu judging him at first glance wasn't fair so he wants to prove him wrong.
"I believe I will"
Hearing the confidence in his voice, Hei Guafu smirked and leaned in making Zixin tense up.
"I look forward to our training then, Ying'er"
A blush crept up to his cheeks, that name, what did it mean?! Before he knew it Hei Guafu had went back inside the cave leaving him outside.
He held his chest and felt the beating of his heart against his palm, he took a deep breath.
"This man will be bad for my heart...I have to avoid him...that will be impossible though" he says ending with a sad sigh.
"May the heavens have mercy on me"

Back at Xin Mo sect.....
Xin ai was on night patrol with a few disciples, the moon was full and he could hear the wolves howl in the distance.
"Young master, do you think your brother has solved the case?" One of the disciples asks.
He sighed.
"This case is not a simple one, it will take him atleast months to solve it....he'll need all the help he can get".
"Oh....should we send some reinforcements to him?"
"No need, I'll set off early in the morning"
