He had changed.
Izekiel calmly stood in the shadows, and everything about him looked strange, unfamiliar, and odd. His eyes were devoid of any light or even life, the dark alluring gaze of his was now stained with a red as dark as blood. A fatal aura danced within those callous eyes. He no longer looked like the Izekiel she knew, what stood in front of her was a shell devoid of any light or warmth.
Above all, he didn't look real.
"Izekiel..." she whisper, the grief in her voice was uncalled for, and for a moment she almost forgot all the reasons she should be careful.
After the separation that was for too long, she found her gaze taking every part of him. His hair had grown even longer, let loose in a way she would have found alluring if it was not for the amused yet chilling smile that curved up his familiar lips.
A traitorous part of her ached to hold him, to pour her heart out and let him know all that she had feared to admit before.
