Bab 186: Knights, Coins, and Women

Faith remained in her room for a few moments more after she put on the ragged dress. Her appearance, resembling a poor girl with mud still smudging her fiery hair, didn't bother her as much as her feelings. 

She attempted to figure out why she wanted, or rather, needed, to be near Andrew. She didn't like him, yet when he was there, every fiber of her flesh and bones vibrated. That sensation was appealing, and she wanted to cling to it for as long as she could. More than anything, the notion of Andrew being the catalyst for this exquisite joy confused her.

It took her a while to feel like herself again and strong enough to wear the shallow princess mask again. She sighed, rose from the bed, and removed the chair she had stuck against the door. After a deep breath, she grabbed the doorknob and went outside the room.
