(3rd Person POV)
Unaware to Kei, cogs were moving to impede his moves and intentions, but similarly so did Kei's plan continue to bloom into fruition. Time was in his favor in this battle that he didn't know was being waged, and he was still winning, having time on his side as his enemies had to move fast before it ran out.
Black Zetsu was moving to momentarily halt the movements of what remained from Akatsuki, intending to secure a meeting with the young Hokage before everything escalated, his curiosity and reason telling him it would be much more simple and better than having to clash with him.
The Mist and Cloud were slowly coming to an agreement, pushing for an alliance as they tried to covertly reach Iwagakure, scared by the growing power of the Hidden Leaf…
Meanwhile, inside Konoha, The Slug Princess scrambled for support as an interesting document made its way to the Hokage's office.
An operation that could quite possibly endanger his very existence or further it… was about to begin.

(MC POV)
Kei watched from his office, his Sharingan while not capable of piercing through the building, still capable of covering quite the distance as the elevation allowed him quite the point of view.
'The 'talk' between Naruto and Sasuke should be taking place any moment now. Had Kuro been the one alive, it would have been some kind of special event… oh well, it would mostly be about building the relationship between us, so I don't have it high on my priority list.' – The relationship between me and Sasuke was already established in quite the solid manner. Interfering in this 'event' would only serve for me to worsen my relationship with one of them, prompting me to keep my distance and let their rivalry continue.
As I thought about the complications regarding possible interaction between the three of us, a figure flickered next to me, wearing standard anbu gear with but a slight difference, the slight bulge of the metallic plates hidden underneath the vest.
'At least the R&D department is doing something useful.' – I thought to myself, finding something to excuse the amount of budget allocated to them.
A single file document was handed to me as Neji waited silently at the side.
Opening and glancing at it, a smile made its way into my face. The rare opportunity I was waiting for had already fallen into my lap.
"Bring me Team 7… Sasuke as well." – I ordered as I made my way from the window to the Hokage seat.
*BOOM*
Only for an explosion to shake the building as I simply looked at the mass of purple chakra in the distance. Five Hyuga Anbu formed a defensive perimeter around me as I sighed.
'Sigh… I expected something like this.. though a Susanoo was a little excessive even for them. Do they think money just falls out of the sky to repair what they break?' – An exasperated sigh escaped me as I shook my head.
Suddenly an idea hit me as my eyes darted towards the document Neji brought me.
'Should I take a gamble? See how fate can play around with its chosen ones? The information could be priceless, and the chances of such a chance falling into my lap another time are almost impossible.'
Doing a quick calculation, there originally was only a 10% chance of me gaining anything out of this 'event'. With the addition of Sasuke, I was sure to gain information at the very least, though…
' If I just send the original team, it will be a gamble to gain anything… but if I send Sasuke as well I will be sure to gain at least something, information that might help me in seeing how the timeline changes. I failed the first chance, I might have to leave this second one go on my own… but I won't fail the third time, Fourth Hokage.' – I thought as my expression fell a little, there being the chance of having to let my prey go a second time.

(3rd Person POV)
Two bruised teenagers stood in the front of the Hokage's table, opting to avert their eyes as the blood-red eyes stared daggers into them.
Suddenly, instead of the scolding and punishment they were expecting, a smile made its way into the Hokage's face, the kindly look sending shivers through both of them as they both slightly recoiled, their backs suddenly straightening up.
A similar feeling spread through the room, affecting both the team's current captain, Yamato as well as Sakura who silently stood at the side.
"It's good to have such energy after only a day… such that I have decided to have you take an assignment as soon as possible. This way you'll be able to release all that energy… on more significant targets than each other." – The Hokage said as he smiled at the
"Huh?" – Was the intelligent reply given by the two.
A folder was thrown to Yamato as he slightly bowed and they made their way to the exit. Curious glances jumped between the duo and their current leader as they wondered about the mission given to them. Before they could make it further, however, a voice pulled their attention.
"Sasuke!" – Came the name with a voice that demanded attention.
A chill ran down Sasuke's spine as he turned his head to meet the smiling face of the Hokage.
"A word." – The same face uttered as Sasuke smiled wryly for the first time in years.
