Bab 75: A Hard Bone to Crack (2)

He tried to take the boy with those words, but Malcom, using his speed, backed away.

Seeing this, Skyler lit her hands and feet on fire. She used the power of the fire to increase her speed and advance at everything she gave to get to Bones.

He looked at her smiling before he started throwing bones at her that forced her to change direction.

As the young woman moved, Malcolm attacked again by the side while Skyler jumped to reach Bones.

Skyler lit her hands-on fire, and Malcom, creating a huge hammer from his dagger, prepared to attack.

But Bones, using both his hands, placed one in front of Skyler and created a huge flower of bones that stopped the flare that she threw at him.

In contrast, from his other hand, four hardened and enormous bones came out to impale Malcom.

Malcom turned his hammer back into a shield and was able to stop the first attack. But above his defense and like continuous waves of bones trying to stab the boy, they forced him to back down as fast as he could.

The bones grew at an accelerated rate, and Malcom, retreating with speed, managed to escape from them until his back hit the wall of that corridor.

The spindles about to reach him almost stabbed him when Skyler appeared in front of him, creating his barrage of fire supported by the cloak stopping the attack.

Malcom, behind her, kept his dagger and, taking out another card, he threw two clasps to try to cut Bones, who was using his hands covered by bones. He deflected them without a problem.

"You guys make a good team!" Bones praised loudly, "And your girl… you have a good treasure, capable of stopping my attacks... very good!"

When he said that, Malcom and Skyler shared a look, and she, just by looking into his eyes, understood what he was proposing.

Without wasting a second, she jumped and, crouching down, placed the soles of her feet as a target for Malcom with the force of his magic treasure in his boots to propel her at full speed in Bones' way.

The momentum was such that Skyler was close to Bones in just a second and turning on her axis. She delivered a flaming kick to hit her enemy with full force. Raising his hands, he held the kick. Without moving an inch, he resisted all the power that that combined attack generated.

Skyler gaped at him, but at that moment, she saw how two huge bones came out of the man's back.

Those bones had been used to hold the floor and be able to withstand the power of the attack, but before she could react, he placed his hand on the neck of the girl and slamming her hard against the ground.

"Do not move!" He said with a grin. He then left replicas of his skeleton hands holding the girl to the ground.

Malcom tried to get closer, but Bones started attacking him.

He threw several bones that the Marked quickly evaded and, creating a sword, lunged towards him.

The sword was much thicker this time. The Marked wanted to make sure he didn't break it. Just as he did, Bones created a huge long bone and began to fight against the Marked.

Malcom was considerably better than him in close combat. Still, all of his attacks were completely useless against Bones that stopped his blows and those that he could not simply receive without taking any damage.

Malcom tried to get away, but before he could jump back, the man stretched out his hand just like an enormous arm made of bones.

Taking the boy by the shirt, he drew him back just to hit him with his bare hand against the ground.

Malcom almost lost consciousness, but when he looked up, he saw how a rain of strong and consecutive blows fell in his way.

Each blow was stronger than the previous one. An immeasurable pain reached his face just before losing conscience.

Bones looked up at the place where Skyler was trapped, completely enraged, caught fire and a powerful explosion caused the ground to crack, making enough space to break free.

Seeing Malcom completely unconscious at the feet of Bones, she said, "Get away from him!"

"He's a tough guy. I had to hit him ten times to knock him out!" Bones responded with a bright smile, and he then looked at his hands that were covered with Malcom's blood before glancing at him towards Skyler and then asked, "How many do you think I'll have to hit you?"

"You will pay for that!" Skyler yelled as fury ran through her body.

Suddenly, with a speed that Bones was not expecting, she reached inches from his body and, placing her hands on his abdomen.

"Explode, asshole!" Skyler spoke in disdain. As she said that, a huge blue flame appeared in her hand only to be engulfed by a tiny fragment of light that seconds later exploded at full power.

Bones felt the impact and could not stay in that place. The power of the explosion made him fly through the air until he crashed into the opposite wall.

He could not help but look at the girl with unmasked surprise. "What a power!"

But Skyler, far from having finished, leaped into the air, and lighting both hands on fire, she yelled, "Twin Suns!!"

She threw her attack to Bones, who, covering his face, received it fully. Skyler knew he was a powerful guy and taking a deep breath.

"Not yet!" Skyler yelled furiously. She was completely set on fire and concentrating all her power in her hands, "Flame cannon!" Just as she said that a huge blue flame shot out of Bones' way.

As time went by, the flame concentrated more and more, and the rocks around Skyler were destroyed by the pressure of her attack. The flame gradually became an intense blue laser that concentrated all the magical power of the young woman on Bones.

After a few seconds, she released her breath, and her attack ended. Panting and trying to control her breathing, she looked where Bones was and gasping for air, and she said through murderous glare, "That had to work!"

But when the smokescreen dissipated, a man wrapped in gnawed bone armor was falling apart.

Bones clapped before he praised, "Amazing girl! That attack shattered my bone armor… few in the world can do that! You are really worthy of Maximo's niece!"

Skyler glared at him. She could not accept the fact that he was still alive after receiving most of her strongest attacks.

She knew that she doesn't have time to waste. Thus she already started to gather magic.

However, before she could send her next attack, Bones raised his hand, and on his hand was a small skeletal finger that flew towards Skyler.

Skyler dodged it, but Bones changed position with him being at the girl's back when the finger fell on the ground.

She wanted to turn around, but it was too late, and the hand of Bones that covered her face smashed her hard against the ground, making her slowly lose consciousness.

Before she was completely faint, she glared at Bones with full of determination. "With you, it only takes a hit ..." she forcefully muttered before Skyler got knocked unconscious.
