Bab 29: Chapter 29: Experiment
Disturbed by it, Akihiro and Roulan turned to look at each other in fright. It was the first time that they had seen rare experiments as such.
To think that the founders have shown them the case of SU105 they now anticipate that the founders must have already known about their secret search for SU105, therefore, was showing his death to them.
Since he was their good junior, Roulan and Akihiro cared for him pretty much. They didn't believe that he would just die on a space mission, not after, the death of Dr Feng's(Roulan's husband) incident.
While the two were musing on it, Luca turned to the two of them and spoke up in the firmness, "AU119 and AU117, we have long known that you two were secretly doing your research on the missing SU105.
That being the case, we especially invited you two to have a clearer look at it.
With this, we hope that you stop looking for SU105 and focus on the mission being presented to you"
Akihiro was left wordless by it, he turned to look away in guilt while Roulan turned to look at Luca in the eye and interrogated in suspicion, "You said that the species from the planet XXVI can cure the disease of SU105. Then how come the experiment turned into a failure?!"
Luca smirked at the intelligence of the special unit member.
After a moment of reflection, he spoke up carefully, "The species from the planet XXVI can indeed cure tumours on the brain but the thing is that SU105 was having a hard time bearing the pain of the species multiplication on his brain.
Because of his continuous struggle, the species' multiplication was disturbed thereby, forcing both of them to explode and making the experiment fail.
Only if SU105, had stayed still and overcome the pain. Things would have been settled" he concluded.
Roulan couldn't believe that an alien species can enter a human body and be able to cure diseases.
Wanting to know more of it, she turned to Luca and inquired in inquisitiveness, "What happened if the experiment had been a success?! What would happen to SU105 body?!"
Luca replied to it with a smile, "If the experiment had been a success, SU105 would be free from diseases. His body would have come back to normal and the species will leave the body on its own accord"
Roulan was left mused by it, 'The species would leave the body on its own accord?!. There's no way that such a thing would happen. The system clearly shows the species being merged and multiplicated inside the body of SU105, it was dominating his entire body.
Since the species was able to merge with the host body, it would have taken control over it all and then his brain??!!
What if it was successful in dominating his entire brain...then...SU105...???!! It's either they work together or for the worst case SU105 won't be himself!!'
So many things were circulating inside Roulan's brain.
The founders were taking them for a fool.
Such an unknown alien species is being used for experiments and no one dares to speak on it. It was as if they didn't care for the life of SU105.
Something fishy is going on inside the founders.
Roulan was left disturbed by it.
Because that her late husband was Dr Feng. She knew a few things about the experiment thing.
Her late husband was on a similar experiment.
She clearly remembered him telling her in frustration that he was working on a human and alien experiment.
That the founders have instructed him to work on it.
Even though Roulan asked him furthermore about the experiment, Dr Feng didn't give her a clear answer.
He just denied it saying it was for the benefit of humankind.
She remembered him working days and nights on the experiment.
As Roulan remembered it all, she just couldn't let it pass by anymore.
Suspecting that her late husband death must have something to do with the experiment and founders.
She turned to Luca and inquired in wonder, "Do you remember Dr Feng?!"
Luca turned and acted cool. He then responds composedly, "Dr Feng?!"
As he looked at Roulan, he saw her keenly looking at him waiting for the answer.
Unable to ignore it, Luca turned and replied sternly, "Yes...I remember him clearly"
"He was a very diligent and hard-working doctor. Too bad that Dr Feng has passed away with the stroke"
Even at that moment, Luca was lying straight on Roulan's face.
Roulan was left disturbed by it. She still doesn't believe that her husband had died of the stroke. He was physically fit back then. Right before he goes to work he would do a physical check-up every day and would usually leave the unit. It was his daily routine. Dr Feng did the physical checkup on the day he died as well. He was perfectly well and in good shape when he left for work.
Roulan always believes that there's must be more to his death.
Since they were in the founder's place for the first time. It was her chance to explore the place and find the details of his late husband.
While she was on it, Luca turned to them and spoke up with a gentle smile, "Since things have been cleared AU119 and 117, you are free to leave the place"
Roulan fake a smile at it and replied consciously, "Then...we will be on our way back"
With it, the two of them bid their farewell to Luca and walked out from there.
They clearly remembered the path they took, therefore, was on their way back.
As they continued to move, Roulan observed around and instantly grabbed Akihiro's hands.
Akihiro turned to look at her in amusement.
While Roulan hinted with her eyes, saying that she wanted to go the other way around.
It was clear in her eyes that she wants to search for the file of her late husband.
Noticing it, Akihiro concerned eyes turned to look at Roulan troubledly.
He believes that it was not wise of them to look around the rooms of the founders and search for confidential documents.
