Two pillows sat in between West and I preventing our legs from grazing each other. And worse, stopping me from holding his hand to calm my tensed nerves.

Mom sat legs crossed across us both, eyeing us like we were some delinquents, and she was the cop interrogating us.

"Mrs Netwood, I just want to tell you that am dead serious about your daughter and I'll do everything in my power to protect her." West announced, killing the awkward silence in the room.

"Mom, I don't care if West is sick, he's still the same jerk hole who cares a lot for me, and he's proven it thousands of times." I said backing him up. We both exchanged encouraging glances at each other, not ready to back down.

Pushed her hair aside, revealing the air pods she had on, that woman was impossible!. She took them out, and cleared her throat.
