Shu Xian had been working as a librarian for several months now, and she took her job very seriously. She prided herself on keeping the library organized, quiet, and efficient.

However, today was proving to be a challenge.

She couldn't seem to focus on her tasks, no matter how hard she tried. Her mind kept drifting to the scene she witnessed earlier between Ruo Xi and Pan An.

Shu Xian had seen them together, laughing and chatting in the cafeteria and even though Pan An faked being entertained, it still bothered her to no end.

It was clear to her that they were more than just friends before and that the past may have played a part in their talk a moment ago.

The sight made her heart ache, and she couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy that was gnawing at her insides.
