~~~(POV: Nate Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: Dantooine, Landing Pad)~~~
Nella follows close behind me as we walk onto the soft grass and the calm energy the world carries. We're in the largest settlement on Dantooine, known as Partition Major. All they have in terms of a spaceport are landing pads.
My eyes look around, and there aren't any buildings taller than three stories. Having spent time in Dagobah, it's nice to be in a world that isn't so... Hostile.
Guards with weapons drawn slowly make their approach. Nella wants to pull her lightsaber out in case of any trouble, but I gently wave my hand for her not to. The squadron of guards eventually makes it, and the leader holds a blaster aimed at my head.
"State your business in Partition Major. We don't get visitors often, let alone ones that don't schedule a visit ahead of time."
They don't recognize me or Nella. Something I can use to my advantage. To be fair, my hood is up and covering most of my features.
"Commander... Look at their belts..."
One of the guards points out the lightsaber hilts we've got on us. That's when I feel their fears and anger swell. Most people come to worlds like Dantooine seeking ways to escape the Jedi and Sith.
Nella sends a wave of concern toward me, not for our lives, but for theirs. She doesn't want to kill them, which I understand. Neither do I. There was a time I wouldn't have cared.
"Your kind isn't welcome here. Get back on your ship and leave. Or we'll be forced to use lethal measures."
The stern and hard edge in the commander's voice tells me he's an ex-republic soldier. Meaning, the odds are good he's served with Jedi before. He knows what someone who wields The Force is capable of. Makes me wonder why he's taking this course of action.
"We're not here to cause any trouble. All we need is information about scientists and archeologists on Dantooine doing research. They have the information we need."
Getting the value of the objects Nella recovered is something that's secondary. What I'm looking for is where I can find the old Jedi temples and monuments. They'd know where they are. But from the looks of it, I won't be getting anything from these guys.
"This is your last warning. Leav-!"
A simple movement from my finger rips the weapons from all their hands. With another flick, they fly in different directions. They look at each other in shock. The fear skyrockets. And the anger of the commander begins to writhe.
The commander pulls out a holo-communicator. Looking to contact backup or some leader. It's ripped from his hand and floats in my hand. Slowly twisting around.
"I'm guessing this is how I can get into contact with all the major figures on Dantooine. Thanks, you've been most helpful."
The holo communicator slowly floats out of my hand and finds its way to Nella. She holds it with two hands and follows me closely as we walk through the group of men.

~~~(Location: Dantooine, Partition Major Cantina)~~~
"We're here to look through temples and locations of old Jedi significance. From the contacts list, you're name came up as a head scientist."
I have no idea why I'm talking with this guy. Nate and I walked into the empty Cantina, and he told me to speak with him. Typically, Nate handles all this stuff. Why he's making me do it is unknown to me. Perhaps some sort of lesson.
"Normally, we'd be glad to help any Jedi. However, as you've seen upon your arrival, the local settlers aren't happy that you're here. They hardly tolerate us on Dantooine. I don't want to give them a reason to drive us away."
That's perfectly reasonable on his end.
"But, that doesn't mean I can't send you in the right direction now. Talk to Major Riley. She'll give you guys a chance to earn some respect. Until then, we can't be seen around you."
I nod my head and end the call. Nate's heard the whole conversation, and I can see that he's in deep thought.
"What are you thinking about?"
I'm not a master at reading people's thoughts like my cousin is.
"Major Riley. Another member of the republic. I doubt we'll get any help, but we can try. Normally, I'd Force Choke or Force Crush until I got what I needed. But I'm not that guy anymore."
I'm glad I never saw that part of Nate...
