~~~(POV: Nathen Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: Landing Pad, Coruscant)~~~
Nella is looking off one of the rails and seeing the views of Coruscant. I walk up next to her and do the same. My cynical view of Coruscant causes me to see it differently than her. She's young and undamaged. When I came here, I was lost and broken.
"This is the Capital of The Republic... That's the Senate Building!!"
She steps away from the railing and points to a large building in the distance. It's an incredible structure. One where all the decisions of The Republic are made. Marisa should be there, and Nella probably doesn't want to wait any longer.
We eventually make it to a taxi service and head for the Senate Building. Sadly, I have forgotten you need clearance to land there.
"You're flying in Restricted Airspace. Leave or be shot down."
The great thing about taxi services is you get to drive the vehicle yourself. The terrible thing is that taxi services don't have access to places other than public areas. Since The Senate is a critical military target, it's heavily guarded.
"Whoever is listening to this, you'll be remiss not to allow me to land. Tell Satele Shan her old Padawan is here."
There is only silence coming from the Holo-communicator. It's a bold statement and one that's been made before by people trying to get into the Senate Building.
In the span of a second, The Force warns me that I'm going to be attacked. Regardless, I stand in my seat and look toward the Senate Building. Nella takes the wheel as I hold my hand to stop interception vehicles.
"Nate! I don't know how to drive this thing!!"
Uh-oh...
The next thing I know, Nella is bringing the taxi vehicle down for a hard landing. We land on a long strip of the walkway, and a bunch of soldiers surrounds us. My hood is up, so they can't see my features.
"That's something we'll have to work on..."
Nella looks up at me with a nervous smile as I say that to her. She stands up alongside me as all the Republic Troopers point their weapons at us.
"Surrender any weapons on your persons immediately and step out of the vehicles!!"
They're not interested in anything other than a hostile approach. I throw my finger up, and all their weapons are ripped from their hands and are sent into the sky.
Now, none of them have weapons.
They share nervous looks with each other. I can sense the growing fear of the people around us.
"As I said, I'm here to see Satele Shan."
The moment I finish speaking. I feel a familiar presence. It's not Satele. Nella jumps out of the vehicle and runs to a woman making her way toward us. It's Marisa.
No one stops them. These Troopers are smart enough to know that it'd be death if they hurt Nella. I step off the vehicle and start walking to Marisa and Nella. As I do, she looks up and squints at me.
She doesn't approve of my methods, but it's not like any parent would.
"It's good to see you, Aunt."
The squint in her eyes disappears, and she smiles instead. Pulling out of her hug with Nella and making her way to me. She wraps me in a hug, and it's nice to be hugged by family. Even if we're not blood-related, it's something that I cherish.
"It's great to see you, Nate... I can't lie, I've been worried sick about Nella and you, but it seems that you've kept your promise. I don't see a scratch on her."
That's the plan.
We talk for a few minutes as we wait here. We're waiting for Satele, and eventually, I see her walking down the metal walkway. She spends a good amount of time with the Senators. When she's not leading fleets or the Jedi.
I couldn't imagine having her job. I'm too selfish.
She makes it to us, and we stand across from each other. A tense silence develops.
Nella walks out from behind me and looks at Satele. It's easy for her to hide behind me since I'm much taller than her.
"Who's the young one?"
Satele doesn't sound angry or upset. If anything, she'd want to catch up with me like Marisa is right now.
"Let's talk inside. I don't like being out here in the open."
Before I can respond, Marisa insists on getting somewhere else.
Which is better in the end.
