I've had a lot of time to think about what Nathan said, and him pushing the Republic to declare war is a bold move to be sure. I don't know The Force like the Jedi and Sith, but from the Holo-Recordings I've seen of Nathans power, I know that provoking him or giving him a reason to mark me as an enemy isn't good.
The one thing I don't like about him is his assumptions that he can order the Republic around. No matter how much power he has, there isn't a being in the galaxy more powerful than the Senate. It's the brain of the Republic. Without it, the Republic wouldn't exist. I'm to make my case in front of the Senate in a couple of minutes. After that, I'm to speak with Satele Shan.

I'm watching the debate alone this time, and the more I listen to all of this. The sicker I become with the way the Republic is handling this. I know it's not the Jedi way to seek out war and conflict, but the Sith will win and rule the galaxy with an iron fist if we do nothing. General Reylex Gorna steps onto the center platform as it rises.
Everyone quiets down, and he clears his throat. "Many of you have probably heard about what's happened on Tatooine. This is the reason I'm here speaking in front of all of you." There isn't a person in the galaxy that doesn't know what Nathan did. I could feel what he did. Despite what we've been through, I still share a Force Bond with him.
He healed the ancient world, and it's now a paradise the which no one has ever seen. "Yes, General Gorna. We know all about Tatooine. Now, why did you insist on speaking in front of the Senate." Chancellor Sarash begins to push for a faster meeting. General Gorna also requested a meeting with me. For what, I don't know yet. We're to meet after this.
He looks at the Senators and straightens slightly. "Nathan Opal has agreed to let the Republic start settlements on Tatooine." What!? Nathan really agreed to that? There is an immediate buzz around the room. I know Nathan, and he carefully plans out his moves. He'd not do this without reason. Chancellor Sarash has her platform float up next to General Gorna's.
Almost like she's trying to take the spotlight. "Now, before anyone gets excited, what are the terms for such a seemingly generous offer." A world like Tatooine is rare these days. It's a world that has potential beyond a resort for the wealthy. Everyone goes silent at Sarashes words, and I would too. Nathan is always playing an angle.
General Gorna takes a single breath and prepares to speak. "He informed me that should the Republic officially declare war on the Sith Empire. Tatooine will be open for settlements by Republic colonists." So that's his angle. He's trying to focus the Republic. Something we can't seem to do on our own. Immediate yells and protests are breaking out the room.
General Gorna locks eyes with me as his platform descends below, and that must mean he wants to meet with me.

Satele walks into the room, and it's just the two of us. No point in wasting any time. "When I was talking to Nathan, he said that he wants to talk to you." She looks a little shocked... And has what looks like a glimmer of hope. I don't know what the relationship between Master and Padawans is, but I've heard their strong bonds.
From what I've read about Nathan's time at Tython, he became friends with a lot of Masters. Most of all, Master Caleb and Grandmaster Satele Shan. Master Caleb left the order a long time ago and has been rogue ever since. "Did he say anything else?" I've never heard her voice so... meek... Nathan means a lot more to her than I think any Jedi should care for someone.
I know all this because files from the Jedi academy are accessible by Generals and above. While the Jedi don't like it, it's the best compromise that could be made. "No, but I don't think you should waste any time, Master Satele. He had a determined look in his eyes." She gives a half-grin. Admitting that's what Nathan is like.
