Master reassures me as the chaos calms down. I don't know what happened. All I did was try to use the force to get answers from the computer. Using my ability in Mechu-deru to see if I could get access to the information. After trying to find what we need and getting close to it. I was just seconds away from it, then Satele's voice came roaring through. It pulled me from my concentration. Once my eyes opened, I saw what happened. Something must have slipped in my control. If I'm not always in control, bad things can happen. Ever since that day on Tatooine, it can be bad. It happened on Alderaan three times. "I'm sorry, Master... I was trying to find the information we need. I didn't mean to..." I say all this in a whisper, so Jesir doesn't hear me.
I don't want him thinking I'm a danger. I am sometimes, the times like this. "Don't worry, Nathan, outbursts like this happen to creatures with powerful connections to the force. When I was your age, I had similar incidences. Maybe not on this scale, though..." It's a little reassuring to hear that. Jesir walks over to us and looks at me in suspicion. "Let's start this assault on The Star of Coruscant. Darth Marr is already ahead of us and is most likely already there." Satele interrupts Jesir's gaze on me with an order. He stops staring at me and walks back to the hologram of the ship. He inputs some commands, and a new hologram pops up.
He zooms in on a control room. "If we want access to those lower levels, we'll need to access them through the control room. It worked as a checkpoint too. It's the only way in and out of that area of the ship. It's guarded by tons of imperials and Sith. So if we attack as soon as possible, we can get the element of surprise." Satele begins talking to Jesir, but my mind tunes out all that, and I think about what happened. There have been moments when I lose control, not in the sense of rage and Darkside. In the sense of power, I keep a limit on my power, my force powers. Over the years of training, I've had to raise that limit because my power continues to grow. Sometimes I pass that hard limit I've set, and my force powers lash out.
In retrospect, it wasn't the correct way, but I was afraid if I told anyone at the temple, they would lock my powers away with ancient rituals. So it was my best option at the time, at least I thought it was. I bet if I told Caleb, he would have helped me. I take my hilt off my belt and stare at it. My lightsaber is an extension of myself. If I get stronger with my lightsaber, my other powers will grow with it. Vise-versa as it goes both ways, now I'm improving at twice the speed I was before I was taken as Satele's padawan. "Nathan! Are you paying attention?" Satele shouts my name, and I'm brought out of my thoughts. I shake my head no and place the hilt back on my belt. She waves me over to go over the plan. Elsewhere Darth Marr is arriving in the hanger bay of The Star of Coruscant.
My ship lands, and the giant ship stuck in the ice has a certain chill. "We are right on schedule with decoding the security walls protecting the site, my Lord." The captains whose name I didn't bother remembering speaks. I silently turn and exit the shuttle. Many soldiers and officers quickly surround me to begin talking. I tune them out and stretch out my senses. I search the planet for any other force sensitives that aren't under my direct command. I feel a very familiar presence. It's Satele. She is on world. I'm drawn to the power next to her. I feel it out for a few seconds, and as I do, it responds. Violently. I'm lifted off the ground and thrown across the room. I hit the wall hard, and many come to my side as others bare their weapons, searching for enemies.
I know that was an unintentional lash out, the amount of power coming from that presence next to her... I've never felt it before. "Prepare for an attack on our locations. I have a feeling we'll be getting visitors soon." Many officers bark orders as they march off to handle things. I stand and contemplate what just happened. It felt like I was pushing on something I shouldn't have, like a caged beast waiting for the correct pray to come along. It was unlike anything I have ever felt, the power buried and growing in that person... That boy is amazing. "When Grandmaster Satele Shan arrives, let her through, along with any company she has." We are enemies, but sometimes finding out information directly from the enemy is more important.
I look at the officers around me as they await individual orders. "I want all possible entry points locked down. Make it to where they can only come through one way. I want to speak to them." I have certainly found something far more valuable than whatever was being worked on here. "Take me to the command center and checkpoint that's connected to our goal. I want to see the progress for myself." They lightly bow and do the typical brown-nosing of imperials. I'm led to the command center we have control over, and I see the progress for myself. We have cracked around 80% of the encryption. It should only be a matter of time before it's unlocked to us. A few hours pass, and an officer comes running in.
He rushes in front of me out of breath. "Everything has gone according to your plan. Satele and her padawan are coming to meet you. They refused to be disarmed, though. They are waiting at a halfway point with some of their soldiers. It's quite tense." I give compliments to the good work and make my way to the location. At the Location, both Nathan and Satele are on edge. Satele knows more than anyone about Marr and how powerful he truly is. After a couple of minutes of an intense standoff between republic and imperials, Marr finally enters the hallway that's located halfway to the control room. Satele and Marr stare each other down, both force users at the heights of their power.
I watch as Master and Darth Marr stare at each other. It's impossible to determine if he is only looking at Master. His mask prevents it. "I was told you wanted to speak, Marr. Perhaps you would like to resolve this peacefully?" Satele speaks first, and all the guns pointed at each other in the hallway click ready to be fired. Marr puts his hands behind his back and remains calm and silent. The tense feeling is incredible, and the force is telling me to be on my guard. "Are you going to stand there silently, or are you going to speak?" Many of the imperial officers bark insults at Sateles calm question. To follow someone so ruthless...
His head turns ever so slightly in my direction, and I can see Master visibly resist reaching for her hilt. "I wasn't aware the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order has taken a padawan... What is your name, padawan?" I take a breath to speak, but Satele puts her hand in front of me to stop. "You are wise to protect him, but if you haven't sensed it yet, that only means one thing..." I'm confused as he speaks. I watch as extreme caution encroaches on my Master's face. "Ahh... So you have, at least, a semblance of what's buried there..." I don't know anything about power buried in me. Well, I bury a lot of it, but none by what he makes it sound like.
He looks at me, and I can feel him probe my mind. I reject him fast, but he did get my name. "Nathan Opal... Opal... I know that name... Targets on Coruscant." My blood runs cold as he says that. Coruscant was one of the possible destinations for my parents. "Now I see why the Emporer only sent his servants and wrath..." My control slips, and the entire area shakes violently. I close my fists in slow-burning rage, and as I do, the ship bends and breaks in my seething rage. Everyone loses their balance and begins to tumble.
My anger reaches heights it's never been at. "How do you know those names..." I slam a force blast at Marr without moving my hands, and all the imperials go flying down the hall.
Satele looks at me with a broken heart. "I'm so sorry, Nathan... I should have told you..." As those words leave her mouth, whatever control I had left leaves me.
I throw out my arms as everything is broken apart around me. The metal bends and breaks. I kill republic troops along with imperials. I float off the ground, and I stop trying to contain my power. "AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!" As I scream in pure emotion, The Star of Coruscant is dismantled into billions of pieces and begins to swirl around me, just like that day in the park on Alderaan.
The ships that surround the new tornado of metal begin to float in whole off the ground. Multi-billion-ton ships are lifted as if they are nothing. "HOW COULD YOU LIE TO ME!!!" My power continues to soar higher and higher, and the stress on the surrounding area is too great. The rubble of what's left of The Star of Courscant shoots out and destroys all the surrounding floating ships. A ripple in the force surges through the galaxy, and everyone with a connection to the force feels it—the rage of a son that thinks he's lost his parents.
