Bab 27: Making the First Move (1)

In Song Zhizhi's room, Xiaochun stood in front of Song Zhizhi, trembling. Her eyes were red.

The young maid was not yet 20 years of age. She was thin and timid looking. She had probably taken a scolding from Aunt Zhu not long ago, and was now holding back tears.

"Xiaochun," Song Zhizhi briefly looked her up and down before she spoke, slowly.

"Yes, Miss."

"When did you become a maid at our house?"

"More than half a year ago," Xiaochun quickly replied, "Did I do anything wrong, Miss? If you tell me, I'll correct it right away. I'll definitely do my job properly."

Song Zhizhi tried to soothe her, "Wait, don't be so nervous. I just want to ask you some questions. Why are you working as a maid at your age when you should be studying?"
