In the hall, Song Zhizhi's determined attitude made the situation awkward for Nie Wenzhi.

But Nie Wenzhi continued to say in a soft voice, "You're taking the matter too lightly, Zhizhi. As I said before, the Ji family will never compromise on matters that concern their reputation. If we try to coerce them into continuing with the marriage plan, I'm afraid you might get hurt."

"That wont happen. If I marry into the Ji family, they won't dare to treat me too badly, because of my father's status," Song Zhizhi stated bluntly.

Nie Wenzhi's face stiffened slightly.

She never expected that Song Zhizhi would be able to refute her so bluntly now.

Were her efforts for over ten years all for nothing?!

Nie Wenzhi controlled her emotions. "Even so, with the current situation, the Ji family will not accept you!"

"Do you not want me to marry Ji Baijian, Aunt Wenzhi?" Song Zhizhi made an abrupt turn and suddenly questioned Nie Wenzhi.
