Bab 8: Seeing her signs of love
It was one thing to hear that the Athanasia gave birth to two sons, but it was another thing to actually see them on what they look like and they can do and accomplish.
This was Claude De Alger Obelia thoughts of Athanasia's sons as he watches the recorded projection videos of the two boys in front of him together with the Nobles within the throne room.
Whispers of awe, envy, approval, and hope circle silently as the Nobles silently converse within themselves but Claude paid no mind to them as he continues to watch the two teenage boys in boys as they handle their paperwork of their own growing businesses they both created themselves.
Awe, was the first emotion they felt when they first saw the two new male heirs of Obelia on to what their features look like.
They were both beautiful and handsome like they were carved by the hands of the divine.
Gilgamesh, the eldest child, was literally an exact copy of his own grandfather and the only things that were different were his eyes and personality. There is no mistake that he had the eyes Obelian Royalty but instead of blue it was bloody ruby red and his personality was concerning, it was nearly identical to the tyrannical former Emperor Anastacius. However there was a difference, The possessed Emperor didn't have the charismatic charm nor power to earn said arrogance, not like Athanasia's eldest son. Gilgamesh Tempestia De Alger Obelia ,or is publicly known as Gilgamesh Tempestia Sweinorg, had the Aura and Voice of a leader, An Emperor. One that demands to be Obeyed and Heard. And that is not even counting Gilgamesh's accomplishments.
All of young Gilgamesh's accomplishments and merits are all well earned to the point one would make any royalty green in envy. He is the Ruler of his own people and his servants who saw him as a sovereign. He would handle his and his brother's multiple businesses through great success and handles frighteningly well in politics both in the civilian and mage association worlds to the point he brought his own reputation as untouchable and dangerous as acidic poison.
Cloud Novulo De Alger Obelia, others known as Cloud Novulo Sweinorg, is different. The second child has the air of a leader but he projects it quite differently. Instead of being a Ruler, he shows traces of being a General or a Commander. A Warrior who would lead his army on the battlefield with absolute victory. His personality was quiet, aloof, and independent yet very attentive towards his own surroundings with an unnatural habit of making extremely successful businesses with actual competent employees and workers with absolute loyalty with or without thinking and out of all the business he created he favors his small delivery shop while being a deliveryman of his own company due to being able to travel whenever he wanted.
Despite Gilgamesh's arrogance that is the size of a continent and Cloud's untamable wanderlust, they both have the ability to lead and rule an Empire into prosperity.
The idea of choosing one of them would not be a problem, however there is one flaw that they both have are their blind worship for their own mother's attention.
These boys were only early teenagers but they both have intelligence that would make people think they were older. It didn't take a genius to see that these boys blooded as well which was shocking but understandable since they were born in the mages association with power hungry nobles and assassins at every corner.
All in all, there were many approvals from the nobles from what they saw and heard the about the Twin heirs, even Alpheus couldn't argue much less speak up knowing it would be a losing battle.
Hope began to bloom in some the hearts of nobles. Seeing not one, but two powerful male heirs to the Obelian thrones it would fix the devastation in these lands with their own presence. The thought of Obelian magic finally be able to stabilize the Empire made them greedy. But they still would need the lost princess in order to end the conflicts between Empires.
Not only that they need these children. They need the mother as well. They need all of them.
Claude on the other hand just looked at these projection in front of him blankly. He suddenly sat frozen still as he finally see another projection. only this time, it was none other than Athanasia.
She shockingly grew unnaturally beautiful that captivated everyone. She was shown doing her headache inducing paperwork with an insane spread without mistakes, always finishing in 2 hours in order to spend time with her children for meals, visiting her servants, guards and helpers (they are no doubt about them being servants due to their submissive attitude towards her and her children), giving lectures to her class in magic, training with her children in physical combat and weaponry, as well as solving missions and investigation in manner in minutes just by reading reports and news papers.
This is not the Athanasia they knew before. This is the Athanasia they all speculated during the investigation after her death, if not more.
This is the proof that Athanasia was no doubt a hidden shadow ruler of Obelia Empire. this is what they had all destroyed and lost.
Jeannette head was down not showing her face anyone. But if anyone were to see it, they would fell ice within there spine. none saw this as they were busy whispering amongst themselves.
Jeannette heard and knows what they are thinking. They would try to convinced her own faction to leave her to bring back her dear cousin and nephews here.
And that pissed her off. She was so close in getting the throne but now because of that Black Wizard, her true identity was revealed, her real father was dead, her identity was called into question because her body was made of black magic, and now her supporting factions was now planning to leave her. she still have the status as a princess because her Royal Uncle could no longer children thus making her potential heir.
But now with Athanasia and her children alive and well. there are now four legitimate heirs to the throne. three if she was to be (no doubt) removed from the line.
This made her nervous. she needed another way. And she knows how.
"Is there any news in getting into Fidemia, Warlock?" Jeannette flinched on her uncle's voice.
Lucas noticed this but dismissed her as he report. "Not yet, but soon. though I think we should postponed in getting her back."
Claude left eye twitch. "Your reasons?"
The Wizard sighs. "News says that she is pregnant again. It would be dangerous for her to travel back. We have no choice but to wait for to give birth. And again, They say there's no sire as well. It's the same before. If you wish, I can send a record as well. It will be publicly released as a field of study of unnaturally birth due to prana Overload."
The Emperor looked thoughtful then agreed. "Do so. "
